Well it's amazing what a difference a bit of sunshine makes to how productive i've been.
Feel like i've done enough to get a Girl guide badge, Do we give these out here?:D. If so i'd like to get my digging up loads of tatties badge and should have enough points to get the using up all the click boxes in the house with prepped veg badge. Can you tell i'm pleased with myself:rotfl:.
I think i could also get the sad git laundry badge as i've just been on the phone to mum excitedly telling her how much washing i've managed to get on the line and dried today, sad eh, but i'm sure i will be back to normal tomorrow when it lashes with rain again.
Hope everyone else has managed to get some rays of sunshine, hugs x
*jumps up and down with my hand in the air* Can I get my "I've cleaned out the airing cupboard and wardrobe" badge please?
I'm feeling shattered now, but it's so tidy and I can actually get into the built in wardrobe. It will last until DS1 and DS2 go in there to get a towel. It's amazing how much stuff was in there that we haven't used in years. The local hospice charity shop is going to get more than a few bags of donations.
Now I'm going to eat leftovers from last night and then pack to go to my parents in laws, including packing up Buckbeak (DS2's crested gecko). Thankfully she doesn't mind travelling, as we don't have Gecko sitters this time.
(((((((((((hugs))))))))))))) to everyone that needs them. Take care xxxx

Really appreciate having these forums to read and it is so much easier to do so on my laptop rather than my phone as I had to do in hospital.

When I'm in I top up a dongle and take my laptop with me - not sure if it's allowed - but nobody questioned it - and it was a wonderful resource as you can play DVDs etc., put your head phones on and nobody is disturbed (and unnecessary disturbances to you happen much less often.

Can you - or any body else who's reading this - translate a French knitting pattern for me? I haven't got the pattern yet and my French might be up to it...but then again it might not and it's expensive wool. If you see this or can help, please PM me . Ta !
Kittie ty for that ME site, I have saved it. But I tend ot stay away from them as they make me feel worse, is better for me to ignore the bloody illness and work around it.
Today chez Mard is going into winter mode :D I asked the RV what kind of tins to get in for when the snow comes - and all he can come up with is :spam:..............:(

:) Have you got a Sainsbugs, Mardatha? They've still got their Basics Cream of Tomato, Veg and Chicken Soups at 17p a can but I suspect not for too much longer ( I feels it in me watter). Good storecupboard staples for those frozen and CBA days.

Also gotta have enough tea and coffee and SWEETIES and BISCUITS. Be miserable to be snowed-in without enough sugary goodness to hand. If you're anything like me, tho, you'll have to develop selective amnesia about where you store them or they won't last for long.

hmm what corned beef? (just found 4 tins of the stuff in the cupboard) Soup? Beans, tuna, tinned meatballs, tinned sausages, tomatoes .
I know sounds vile but could be an idea if the electric goes out along with freezer.

Well been kind of productive today, did lots of cleaning, re-planted another 20 odd leeks. thrown out even more junk and rubbish.

Just need to keep checking ebay for a single bed and chimneys.

  • Choclaire and charis congratultons on the A level results. My DD has opted to do an extra year at college and will be starting uni when the prices increase .

kidkat I hope your DD is feeling better and Taurudgb sending positive vibes your way.

    Happy birthday charis .:bdaycake:

Have been to the lottie today and had a good tidy up. Have blanched broccoli, runner beans, French beans and cabbage. I am busy open freeing it all at the moment. Have also got some reduced peppers and chestnut mushrooms to slice and freeze. Has anyone frozen mushrooms? Do I need to blanch them before freezing?

Have also picked another 3lb of blackberries but think I might take these in to work. I am also taking some beans (French and runner) spring onions and chard in for my colleagues.

Back to work tomorrow after two weeks leave although I did work 7 extra shifts during this time to try to ease the cash flow crisis a little.

Still have a mountain of ironing to tackle :(, which I will settle down to tonight whilst watching a film :).

Have enjoyed all of the preserving and freezing I have managed to do over this last two weeks. It is my start to my winter prep :). The evenings are getting a bit cooler here but I have warned the family that jumpers will be worn and hot water bottles will be used before the heating goes back on.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.
