lucielle yes I regularly use soda crystals in y dishwasher - no dishes and run on the hottest wash - it gets rid of the build up of gunge in the pipes HTH

Rosanna unfortunately no home bargains here! but thanks I will keep a look out for that brand

anybody know where I can get extra long curtains - in an old property and the doors with the glass bits above make it at least a 100 inch drop and the same in the sitting room - or anywhere for good material at reasonable cost?

I am also a dressing gown gardener!! I look a right sight with my hair pinned on my head, dressing gown and slippers but I just havemore time in the mornings.

A bone question but I have just cooked a joint of ham. Can I slice it and then freeze it and just defrost what I want without doing anything else to it please?

:) something to read in case I can't find anyone fascinating to talk to at the hostel. It'd be a first if so, but you never know....

Oooohh, I do love a bit of planning, I feel a list coming on. Any tips gratefully recieved.

Don't know about you but 'ear plugs' come to mind if you are sharing a room in a hostel:D

Ikea curtains are incredibly long so may be worth a look. :)

Redlady - Yes, I have done this with several joints of ham/boiled bacon, and it comes out of the freezer just fine. I usually collect up the crumbly bits and do some cubes for using on HM pizza or in cauli cheese or on jacked spuds - Ifit was on the bone, that will make smashing stock too.

Hi, can anybody tell me if you can put soda crystals in the dishwasher as mine just isn't doing a very good job. I've checked the arms and just wondering if it needs a good wash out.

Have you checked the salt and the rinse aid?

Redlady - yes you can do that with your ham, I always do. A good reason for doing this if you are in a more than one person household is the other occupants - a ham joint can disappear very quickly after multiple "little tastes" :rotfl:
