  • Im getting married Friday 19th August 3,only organised it 4 weeks ago & everything has went perfectly, im cusrin myself thinkin somethin has to have a hiccup between now & then.

Lookin like the ring me thinks.went shoppin saturday there with my daughters & mum in law...to look at bridesmaids attire...had a look at a few jewelry shops...plus had a look online for white gold wishbone wedding ring.not a helluva a lot of them unless over £400.

not sure how to show similar engagement to mine, hm samuals no longer sellng it. white gold with single diamond twist ring.

As we ve done last minute wedding due to family illness im not wanting to spend alot of money on ring.im shocked that iv hardly seen any that appeal.....except a bling bling much cheapness 2 ring set for £29.95 cant remember the shops name but my god shiney, made my ring look well bland....so minds set cheap shiney bling its gona be. At least will have me sparkling on our day & can be replaced at a later date.

Good luck to you all :)

So i had no idea what to get, I did get a quote for a shaped plain 18k 2mm ring but it was like £550

I know you've already got your wedding ring sorted using your goldsmiths vouchers ( :T ) but I just thought I'd share with everyone - I have ordered an 18k white gold 2mm heavy D ring from theweddingringspecialist.co.uk for £146.81. (The cheapest I've found and half the price I was quoted from my local independent jewellers. I did ask on here for people's experiences, and the guy emailed me back after a query about depth). Fingers crossed it comes and it's perfect. Will let you all know. :)

We're struggling a bit as we both want platimum rings (which is what my enagement ring is). We found a lovely independant jewellers who quoted £550 for my ring and £2200 for H2B!!!!

We might just stick with Ernest Jones as they offer 10% off wedding bands if you purchased your engagement ring from them. Although will have a look online as I like the look of the wishbone ring shown earlier on this thread.

Who knew choosing a wedding band could be so complicated! And I thought choosing the dress was differcult! LOL

...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Platinum is lovely, but it's very expensive (sadly). It's more expensive than gold anyway, and it's usually sold very near pure, unlike gold (9 carat is only about 32% gold, I think).

it does seem like a lot, but we took the view that we are going to be wearing these rings everyday for the rest of our lives so would get good value for money! :rotfl:

I had a similar experience when I was shopping for wedding rings - my W2B's was fine in platinum, but mine was going to be massively expensive. In the end I opted for palladium instead - and saved something like £1500 (my 5mm Heavy Flat Court band was £280). You can't tell the difference to the eye and there's only the slightest difference in weight.

Also, if Iron Man turns up, I know I could always use by ring to power his arc reactor, to keep him alive :D

Well H2B did originally want palladium but when he tried on thr ring there was no weight to it. Hence now looking at platimum.

Think we will have to have a look around to get the costs down

You won't get it cheap, because platinum is now over £1,000 an ounce.
