Dodgy website and credit card

I would dispute lot less, the basic glasses in specsaves are £25 but that's with standard lenses, with my prescription I need at least the 1.67 lenses for most frames. In Specsaves that would push the cost up to £65 and would only give me the options from the £25 range. Wearing them the whole time and being semi-vain I want a pair that suit me and I haven't yet found a pair yet that does than for under a £100 (including lenses).

I agree with eyesight being precious but the mark-up in opticians seems so huge compared to online. I acknowledge actual shops have higher overheads but with the difference in a price of a pair of glasses running into the hundreds of pounds not the tens of pounds it's difficult not to be seduced by the online glasses. However in a couple of weeks when my glasses turn up and they are a complete disaster I will probably change my tune!

Sorry, obviously I didnt realise you had a high prescription,
I have the same problem but like a face to face situation.
My last glasses cost me a tad more than £200 at specsavers (thin lenses, (im vain too) and varifocals, didnt want the reactions, i hated them in my last ones. It included a 25% discount as I didnt want 2 pairs, can never see the point really. I put them on on a morning, take them off last thing.

I hardly think there actual store is dodge.

Unless someone has setup a clone site using there details then thats a different story. Why not just wait till you get the glasses instead of assuming the worst.

Just because a the site isn't like amazon or play or has big flashy things, Doesn't make it fake/dodge.

Just to add, if you paid with paypal then your CC company are unlikely to cover you. As the transaction is between you and paypal -- you then use your paypal balance to send to the merchant, so its PayPal's buyer protection you will rely on here. Although they generally side with buyers anyway, they do waiver alot of your rights outside of their 120 day limit.

Pcombo - a site that isn't big and flashy isnt usually a fake/dodge but missing links and bad spellings are an indicator. I have my own business website, missing links and bad spelling look unprofessional. Until I started this thread I didnt realise they had an actual store.

Arcon5 thanks for that information but I didnt pay thru paypal I just paid using my credit card (wasnt asked to log into paypal at any stage).

I know the people involved with spectacle catwalk and can vouch that everything is professional....they do give value for money and use genuine products......
The best value for anyone needing high index lenses is Asda...I think they are charging £65 for a designer frame and lenses,(any prescription,high index included if needed)
