Good afternoon all and Happy Birthday to Haribo hope you have a good one:)

Bemuzed - Happy wedding anniversary for tomorrow:) 41 years is quite a long haul. It is our 37th on Wednesday:)

Just been down the garden and picked, pulled or dug: tomatoes, shallots, red onions, garlic, peppers, potatoes and spinach for our meal today. We have some new flowers on the aubergines so they have been tickled.

It is glorious here and I've just remembered I meant to put on a wash (slaps back of head with a wet kipper:() Righteo I'll go and do that now. I know I need a memory upgrade. Maybe Kevin Warwick (professor of cybernetics at Reading university) will devise some such thing?
Off I go to get this washing on!!!!!
    Cheers x

Can anyone recommend a good place to store all my recipes - a book/folder somewhere to keep them in one place (preferably something pretty to keep them in too!) At the moment i keep a few in my filofax, but it's not very big and not very organised so thought i'd treat myself next week to a recipe folder/book thingy.

I seem to think that the last time I went into Paperchase, they had a couple. However, John Lewis normally have a good selection too.

I've mentioned this before but I use sticky photo albums to store mine. You can get pretty ones, but I just use bog standard cheap navy Wilko ones (£1.49). I like this way cos they are wipe clean and you can fit lots in them.

Hi Bramble, Ebay do some good recipe books which have a clear pocket at the back for recipes you've pulled out of magazines etc and quite a bit cheaper than paperchase.

House tidied and just spent a lovely hour in the sunshine trimming the bushes and weeding the front driveway. We have also washed the windows and the garage door. It all looks very spik and span:D
Got so warmI stripped down to my vest top but DH pointed out I was scaring the neighbours so had to cover up again.

    Afternoon all,

Happy birthday Haribo, enjoy some of your fishy booty to celebrate.

Hasn't it just been such a sad weekend, all the sadness being so unnecessary, makes me count my blessings.

Really enjoyed the Help JackieO (&G) makes you think about the things we took for granted!

Roast chicken with peas, steamed new potatoes and whatever for dinner, last of rhubarb tart for pudding, thought that DD4 and DGS 2 would be here for dinner but they have hardly been home for last 2 weeks so just had cuppa and headed off to sort things out so that they can come to Kerry with us next Saturday.

Lit woodburner in kitchen and living room fire this morning, not cold but damp, will let both out after house has warmed up....old house gets so cold in damp weather. Heat water on woodburner so we are back to jugs as needed and no electricity used....just free timber.

Am knitting a dress for DGS2's (half) sister as he reprimanded me last night for only having knitted her 2 things since she was born in December!

May cut some more of the small sticks I use as they are easy and a bucket full will keep me going for the day....good exercise too as I need that more than anything.

Have a good afternoon all, stay well and safe

JackieO I loved that book, glad you are enjoying it. :)
Same here. The Help is a fascinating book and I am always trying to get my book clubs to pick it. Unfortunately my library one cant get hold of enough ie 6 copies even tho we have a whole huge borough with lots of libraries to get them from..

I have a book of 50 quids worth of vouchers for Asda given away with our paper but we dont have one round here- can anyone here make use of them??

PS anyone know where my flatmate can get an accountants type spike from .. I keep telling him they wont have them in the high street - prob cs they can be used as a weapon. he wont go for making one with nail and plank etc.. and tho I can find them online at ebay and amazon for a quid or so ago he says he doesnt want to wait for delivery??

BTW i do do the daily pleasures thread ...
