Me too. I was pleased when the handle fell off after 2 unsuccessful meals so I took it back and got my money back. At the moment I have in the oven 2 sorts of pasta bakes a bread pudding and a rice pudding. All using the same gas.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Rubber chicken is a whole chicken which is usually roasted. The leftovers are then stretched (like rubber) into at least two more meals. How far it stretches depends of course on how big your chicken and your family are. Search this board for 'rubber chicken' for ideas. You can of course have rubber beef, pork, lamb and turkey.0

Hiya
Its called rubber because it streeeeetches to make many meals
EG
Sunday - roast chickenm - boil up the stripped carcas to make stock
Monday - stretch the leftover meat to make curry
Tues - stretch the rest of leftover meat to make stirfry
Wed - Stretch the last of the meat to make a pie using pastry crust and sauce/ mushrooms/ leeks - whatever really
Thur - use the stock to make chicken soup or some other type of soup
This is what we do - rubber pork, beef, turkey etc works really well.
Even streeetched a roast duck to make roast dinner, sweet and sour, stirfry, and used the duck fat for roasting veges, potatos
The principle is that you make the meat last as long as possible. If i am stuck with what to do - i bag up the stripped roast meat and freeze it. We just finished the last of our christmas turkey meat last week - it made a good turkey curry.

Hey everyone
hope you are having a relaxing Sunday.
Yesterday I made a roast chicken dinner (admittedly with a hot roasted chicken from Tesco's as our electric is on a meter type thing so I prefer this way). Anyway there is some left and I would like to make something with it for dinner tonight. I would guess there is about 1/4 of a chicken left if i picked it all off. Would prefer to use what's in the cupboards than go to the shops...
I have pasta (my idea was chicken and bacon pasta bake but OH turned his nose up!)
tinned tomatoes
baked beans
cauliflower, brocolli, carrots, peas, potatoes
umm I'm sure I have more in the cupboard as it's full to bursting at the moment but my mind's gone blank....
Any ideas appreciated£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit) - £588

Chicken and vegetable pie? You could top it with pastry if you've got flour, or sliced potatoes if you haven't.Back after a very long break!0

Chicken curry?
Chicken soup with stock made from the carcass?
If you have rice, you could make savoury rice. It's something I make when there's not a lot of meat. Dry fry off onion, carrot, & small chopped broccoli, then add rice with stock, instead of plain water, add the chopped chicken, cover & leave until rice is fluffy. About 7 - 10 minutes prior to being ready, add peas or sweetcorn, if desired.0
