How many people enter comps?

I'm only an amateur comper.

How many people enter the decent competitions like win an Ipad/secret dealers/ps3? What do you think? 2000?

The ITV ones.... probably millions of entries. Speaking to a friend the other day, she told me she phones through entries :eek:

I do mine all online, and enter maximum entries for 3 different numbers. I have known others to do it for 4 or 5 numbers.

The big prizes (ipad, ps3, anything electrical IMHO) are always going to attract lots of entries.... basically because they are sought after or can be sold on easily. I'm not saying everyone sells things... so please don't bite

My first win was a netbook, and there were over 500 views on the OP.

Just feel good - you're in the right place.... at least you know you'll be able to find lots more comps than you would if you were on your own

Millions of entries for ITV? I say 20000 people max.

I won a 19" TV from Costcutter years ago and they told me they'd had over 23,000 entries!!! :eek:

There are a lot of people entering competitions now. I would say the big ITV comps probably attract 100,000+ entries. I used to own a website and we would often run competitions to win a bottle of designer perfume. In 2007 we would average 900 to 1200 entries. Early this year we ran our last competition before selling the site and we had 12000+ entries. Just shows how popular comping is now. It is still worth having a go though and if you enter you have as much chance as anyone else.
My win rate has gone down considerably but I still have some nice wins mainly from local papers and effort comps, and I have to say my bigger wins this year have come from Twitter.

So just remember you gotta be in it to win it. Just have realistic expectations and enjoy the entering. Good luck

last year when I won £500 vouchers I was told I was picked out of 30,000 entrants, I would say with the amount of newbies popping up on here that those figures could easily have doubled this year.

Sadly my competition wins have slowed right down in comparison to last year

Plus all the people that enter through this forum.

You are going to get alot more than 20000 entries, easy.

then treble it, plus all the entries from lurkers, then when they're posted on all the other comps sites even more entries,
the mag comps i post get over 50,000 entries/more each :eek:
& i won from an entry that had over 25,000

Lots of people enter comps. As stated, the ITV ones with the really good prizes will receive loooooads of entries.

But don't let that put you off. Whatever little chance you have of winning, it's better than having no chance at all.

What ever the figures this is free,compared to the Lotto,& every comp has better odds than that :-)
I'd imagine a non ITV/TAB comp wil get 40k plus entries.
