You can have TWO phones @ £10 ea but if you cancel DD within 28 days thay can ask for the phones to be returned.
Don't know if they will actually do this or not.
Told them I wasn't at home therefore didn't know my account number (What account number??:)) but assured them that I had the whole package. No probs.
The least this will cost is £10 + postage EACH for new (Basic) phone inc 300 minutes AND 300 TEXTS.

Hiya...glad to hear it has helped some people! I didn't know about the free phone offer as did it online, they kept that quiet! I imagine they are charging the couple of quid to get what would normally be next day delivery, if it wasn't a bank holiday on Monday and if you say send it whenever, they won't charge you. I would have thought though that they would have to have sent it 'signed for' as if it got into the wrong hands, they could use it straight away as the sim is ready to go...:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0

I signed up for this sometime ago, via NTL. Same offer. Good service so far.

You get a free phone if u are a triple paying customer - phone, cable, net. The phones on offer were those lobster phones, colour/camera but they ran out when I signed up. Instead they sent me the crappy Nokia 1112. Very basic, monochrome phone and they charged me for posting!
Cant do much with that phone except make/receive calls, no infrared/bluetooth so no connectivity. Cant even unlock this phone either!
Kind of phone u give to your very young kids!!! Still its free so shouldnt really complain:hello:

Shopping Tips
Don't spend five pounds to dry clean a shirt. Donate it to the charity shop instead. They'll clean it and put it on a hanger. Next morning buy it back for two pounds.0 -

Thanks a lot for this info.
I've just ordered a free phone and sim through Virgin which will be delivered on Tuesday (£2.99 delivery). I've got phone, internet and tv with Telewest (even though I couldn't find my account number to prove it) and am really pleased with this deal.
I had to hold on for about 20 minutes waiting to get through on the free phone number 0800 408 9342. They are open until 6.30 tonight if anyone is still trying to get through.
I'll probably find a better phone soon, but this will do for the time being as my ancient one has finally packed up. I was on PAYG with Fresh (part of T Mobile) and paying around £20 every 5-6 weeks, so this deal will be much cheaper for me.
The guy on the phone confirmed that unused minutes/texts roll over to the next month.
Apparently I need to get something called a pack (?) code from Fresh in order to keep the same number. Am off to their website to find out about that now!
Thanks again original poster for drawing this to my attention. Bit cross that as a long-standing customer of Telewest this wasn't offered directly to me though ....0 -
Great deal.....thanks for the heads up on this one!

You are allowed to order 2 sims per household and must give 28 days notice of cancellation.0 -
Why do they want to do a credit check when they require your DD details?? My credit file must be as big as a phone book by now ;-)
Think I will give this one a miss but thanks OP!

Seems like a really good deal but I can't get through to the phonelines... most of the numbers are shut now and the freephone virgin one I held for 30 minutes before giving up (don't have hands free so its annoying to hold). Shame since I wanted to the Sim for my self and would have given my boyfriend the phone and got him a PAYG virgin sim since he doesn't use phones very often. ( was hoping for the nokia mind not the pink thing!). May order online anyway considering I was pay £30 a month for 200 minutes with orange :-o~Diminutive0

An excellent deal.
Took me some 45mins to get through but when I did the person I spoke to was very polite and courteous.
A really good first impression, and a company Id like to buy from again in the future. Thanks for the heads up to the OP, and to Virgin for the excellent customer service
