They confirmed he was there. Took the phone to DH bed, I don't blame the nurses they could have been told anything by halifax.

You should have gone to the papers - that's sick. Halifax once phoned me at work after I'd opened an account with them to 'check I wasn't lying on my application form'. They then sent my card to the wrong address, and 5 years on, the account is £500 in debt (not mine!) and apparently I never opened it so I can't contest it! I've never been chased for it.

I nominate Halifax who phone the hospital to check DH was there incase I was lying about his condition. Sick barstewards.

That is just unbelieveable (well, I believe it, but you know what I mean!).

Must take some beating in my eyes.

Rossendales. Bailiff came to my door to collect some money that the company STILL haven't proven was owed, and then proceeded to ask me if I could sell him a knitted jumper from my shop. Plus last time I dared to complain about a bailiff who had a neck bigger than his head (and was an alarming shade of orange) I was told that as I owed VAT people money, it was tough luck.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

I know all this as i (unfortunately) work there (but not on phones) and my honest opinion of them is ...... to polite to say, but they treat 90% of their staff like they treat customers - shambolically. Most people only stay as the incentives are fairly good. some see the light of day and leave - im just waiting for a decent job to pop along

I work for a large finance house and they are all the same. Staff are treated poorly. My mate who works for Natwest feels the same as well. We're all just numbers to them. But as you say.....some of the staff incentives are great! I would need to find a job that paid at least £8k more to make it worthwhile me leaving. The value of the 'staff perks' tot up to about that for me.

Just what are the Staff Perks that you mention? Bonuses? Are they performance related?

I've got to agree with MBNA though.

I generally can never understand who Im talking to and they cant understand me.

I called up once to increase my monthly payment and was told, in no uncertain terms, "the amount by which you increase your monthly payment will have to be significantly more than you're paying at the moment if you actually want to pay this DEBT back"

Well I bl**dy never, which is what I told her then asked to speak to a supervisor about that last comment and was told " they'll tell u exactly the same thing, you owe US £1500"

Quite what was going on in her mind, since I was paying more than the minimum anyway so its getting paid back, should ask for her by name when I call up to cancel the whole thing!

Well there is the bonus which is performance related but I class that as part of my wage anyway (about 10% of salary). Pension, shares, huge subsidy on my PCP lease (£350pm) and other little things that all add up.
