I used to be a member of an American Women's club and they had a big party and used most of the food from Costco - it is brilliant for catering for big parties:)An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

I have been contempleting a trip to Costco.
I have looked on their website about joining. OH has a business, so I have the necessary bits to join.
The nearest one is about 40 miles away....is it worth me going, or should I just stick to Makro.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Bpought a Nikon digital camera from Costco. Saved £100 and it has a two year guarantee. During that period (or was it the first 12 months?) if I decide I dont like it they will refund it!NSD 0/150

I've just joined. I think that some things you can definitely get cheaper from the supermarket - including things like mince. But lots of things are definitely very good value - got a load of nappies last times. Gonna go back next week to pick up some of the tresame conditioner, some chicken breasts, more cheese etc.
Cheers,

Weekly shopper at Costco. I get milk, bread, tubs of yoghurt, bagels, cooked meat for packed lunches. Loo rolls, washing powder, I could go on!The quality of their meat, fruit, frozen goods is brilliant. I also buy their bag of mixed frozen fruit. 5kg bag for £4.65 - it has melon, pineapple, peaches, grapes and strawberrys. Just take some out each night to defrost, top up with a couple of spoonfuls of yoghurt - delicious for breakfast (just add this to the blender to make a breakfast smoothie too).
One word of warning, though, we call it the "£100 shop" - it's very easy to get carried away at first. Stick to a strict budbget when you visit and remind yourself it will all still be there next week/month.Sealed Pot Challenge member No. 874 £13.54 / £5002010 Crazy Clothes Challenge member No. 122 £0.75 / £100100 Day Challenge member No. 40 No toiletries until ALL potions and lotions have been used up, ditto for makeup, no magazines, no visits to the vending machine at work:beer::j:beer:0 -
We love Costco, but we have never come away with less than a £300 spend! Fortunately, we are quite a long drive away so we only go every 3-4 months to re-stock the freezer & storecupboard. The meat, fruit & veg and bakery goods are all fabulous quality. If we lived nearer I think I would be in there every week.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0

I bought a Delonghi deep fat fryer over 2 years ago from Costco for £55 and the seal on the lid failed. I phoned up Delonghi to get a new seal but they don't make them anymore, so I phoned Costco up and they told me to bring it back for a full refund. I then bought a Tefal fryer for £52 which is £99 in Argos, not bad for 30 mins work. They also told me "if at any time you are not happy with an item you have bought, return it for a full refund", but some items it doesn't apply to, like laptops.0 -
I got my huge American washing machine toploader from there and a big tumble dryer. I've let my membership lapse tho as I always ended up spending more than I intended.Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.:beer:0

I know that they change their product ranges regularly (I guess when they have sold what they have bought and replace it with a similar product).
I live 50 miles from my branch in Thurrock. Does anybody know if they give out stock information over the phone. I am particularly interested in LCD TVs & vacuum cleaners.0
