Whats Costco like?

Love costco, but you always end up spending more than you think you have! I think its cos you count in your head how much the individual items in the bulk packs cost, and forget to add
My favourite buys are Vanilla Onken yoghurt - huge tub for £1.14, and not seen these in Tescos or Sainsburys. Pitta bread - bulk pack of 18 I think, and it works out at 6p a pitta. Olive and feta cheese mix, and homous - again huge tube for £1.something. Also, the b'day cakes which you get personalised, are humungous, and will feed prob minimum 50 people for £9.99. We had a party and had 25 people, and only about 1/3 of the cake was eaten
Also, they sell rugs which are very cheap, and had Ugg boots for £80 or so I think last yr..
Love Costco, (as long as you buy the right products! lol)We got rid of the kids. The cat was allergic.

Hi
dont no if this is the right place to ask this?sorry if its not
Can anyone tell me about cosco do you have to have a buisness to go there?
many thanksIt's an honour having such a lovely family and being welsh, what more could a girl want :rotfl:0 -
We have a card because my BIL has a small biz and is allowed to let about 12 or so people have a card aswell. Personally, I don't think it is any better value than buying value brands but if you love your branded products in huge quantities then you will make savings. The bakery section has bread and pizzas that are very very yummy! I've only been a couple of times though so I'm sure someone else could give you better advice about how to get the best value from costco.0

You don't have to have a business there are all sorts of professions eligible for non trade membership.
You can go along and have a look round, but not buy anything, if you want to see what they are like0 -
I think you have to be selective there, don't assume it is all cheap. Often things are cheaper in Tesco etc.0

You can see the eligibility categories on their website, I think, last time I looked. http://www.costco.co.uk/
I've been a member a couple of years (civil servant), and I love it, but you need to be selective about what you buy. I get toilet rolls when on offer, I like their own-brand (kirkland) washing powder (laundry), and their meat is excellent quality albeit not particularly cheap - I still buy it as it's good value for the quality / price compared to a lot of supermarket stuff, and I can't always get to my nearest butcher to stock up.
Bakery stuff is to die for - gorgeous birthday cakes made to order (about 14" by 8", personalised names etc iced onto it, all for about £12 !), massive big pizzas for £5 etc. Great place if you're planning a party, or have room to store the 'bulk' you tend to buy here (15 packs of 4-pack toilet rolls, 24 cans of tomato soup etc etc !).
If you've got a friend who's a member, try to have a trip in with them so you can buy some of the stuff you fancy to test it out, before deciding if you want to invest the £30 membership fee yourself. That's what I did.0 -
There are a couple of threads around about Costco (you need to add a "t" into the middle if you're searching electronically) that tell you loads about what they sell and what's cheap and what's not.
I love the place!

Sorry -doesn't list the 'selected' occupations it mentions under membership - my apologies. Sure it used to.
My understanding is it includes Civil Servants, NHS workers and some professionally qualified occupations like civil engineers etc.0 -
Try these....(fingers crossed this works!)
