It is possible to organise your own funeral for around £200
A local joiner can build a coffin, find someone with an estate car and book the crematorium and pay the fee.
To be honest there is not much else to it other than a firm organising those things and charging you a couple of thousand pounds for the privilege.
you wont do it for £200
Doctors fees are £147
Crematorium fee in my area is £447.00 some areas £600
Coffin has to meet crematorium regulations
Where are you going to keep the deceased until the funeral0 -
No advice to give really but i hope it gets sorted for you.0

Not much to add here either, but my mum recently died and we arranged a very respectable funeral for less than £2000. We arrived in our own cars, opted for cremation, and had the after party (wake) at our house, but it was very dignified and didn't seem to be lacking in any way.
It was led by a Humanist "celebrant" who spent over 2hrs with us talking about mum, and how we'd like the service to be led. I would want to honour my mother in any way I could, but I don't think spending more on a funeral would have done that.0 -
I am glad your sister is stepping up to the mark. Now let her and get on with looking after your own family.
Don't fret over ashes. They are just ashes, not memories - they are more important.
Hugs.
