Been for a rather long drive only just come home infact.
Did a lot better tonight but again it was quieter but hopefully it will all help. Went further out than I had done, even went to my local tesco and asda and spent a fortune hehe
Think my biggest bug bear tonight was blinking idiots up my @rse and over taking me, making me feel guilty for doing the speed limit! But I know thats something that will probably always happen.
Hopefully going to go during the day tomorrow to see how it slots together
Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end0 -

Stick to the speed limit, if they wanna drive like an absolute loon let them.. they're risking their license and other peoples lives.
I just wack cruise control on to 70 in my car on the motorway and if people want to come flying past me... I let them0 -
Very true Adam
I just think I'm on probation I can't afford to speed, and I wouldn't even if I wasn't on probation especially not once I get the 2 kiddies in the car.
I will admit it is very easy to go over 30 in that car, I feel I need to keep an eye on the speedo.
And then there's the matter or it looking like a boy racer car which makes people think I want to drive like a loon!
Oooh cruise control, I am jealous already, even though I haven't been on motorways yet I know it will be something I yearn for haha.
Must say going back to the P plate debate it has been interesting to see the different views!

Just stick at it
let everyone else get on with what they want to do, as long as your driving safely don't worry
! (Read my post at end of page 2)
Cruise control is amazing, its about 25 miles each way to my job and 19 miles of that is motorway so just flick it on and chill!

Not a P plate fan myself but I'm in the minority that will back off a bit more if I see you using them (as I will learners) - probably 1.5x my usual following distance.0

I'd say go out and practice your clutch control on that particular car somewhere quiet as already suggested, drive around as much as you can at night when the roads are quieter etc too - if you still feel like you'll stall lots etc and think it would help others understand then stick some plates on by all means - as above though people can be particularly unkind to new drivers.
If it helps my better half was a particularly nervous new driver, but forced herself to drive where possible and also drove all of my cars - she's kicked about in a 2.0 tdci focus, mr2 turbo, 2.8 straight 6 bmw and now my newer mr2 without any difficulty so you'll get there soon enough.0 -
Been out again tonight, went for a meal, 40 min drive from us. The mister drove there and then I drove back including a bit of motorway
And to make it better I never stalled once, in fact I managed to catch my clutch (think that's what its called) on a hill and didn't even notice, it was only once I set off I thought oooh I didn't need the hand brake :j

hand brakes are a new fangled thing.. foot brake and clutch control is all you need but it sounds like you're getting used to the car... Couple more weeks (if that) and you'll realise you're not thinking about what you're doing but just doing it0
