"We wanted to let you know that our supply partner, SSE, has announced price increases for their electricity and gas. Unfortunately, we're now going to have to review our prices too and we'll announce the result in the next few days. We'll make sure that we let all our customers know about any changes in writing at least 30 days before they take effect. Ebico"

    Any News on Prices Please?

      • 71098_112467313920_2958141_q.jpgEbico Ltd Hi Matthew. We anticipate being able to give details on our prices in the early part of next week. Ebico18 hours ago

    • I wonder if it will be 18 % and 11% or more??? Some companies are stinging people by upping the standing charge or first tier kwh rates. Like waiting on energy 'death row!

    Can't understand the last comment as Ebico don't have a standing charge or tiered rates so its not like 'energy death row' as you put it

    My point is I dread the news of the price rise.

    Secondly, considering low users are being hit disproportionately I am concerned that greedy SSE won't bring much joy to Ebico's new rates, unless they are feeling charitable!

    I luv the non tiers and no standing charge rates.

    I’m sorry to tell you that we will have to increase the price of EquiPower by an average of 12.2% and EquiGas by 19.4% on 14 September 2011. A price increase has become unavoidable and a detailed letter is being sent to all customers. I know this is bad news and many will be worried about further price increases, so I can guarantee that our prices will now be capped at this level until at least March 2012. Phil

    Will Ebico's price rise as much ?

    www.uswitch.comScottish and Southern Energy (SSE) has announced a price rise of 11% for electricity and 18% for gas.

    So what I thought "Ebico are charging more than SSE" - how charitable is that?? AND they are suppose to be non profit making!!

    Are they, what is the price per unit? ignore the percentages

    Also remember there is not a standing charge with Ebico, unlike some SSE tariffs, and according to this new thread SSE SC will increase by 30%

    Like many a low user I will make up my own mind, using pence per unit and not headline figures
    Numerus non sum
  • Be careful if doing a comparison as energyhelpline doesn't appear to have been updated with the new figures yet.

    Ebico before
    Gas = 4.011p
    Electric = 12.747p

    Ebico after price increase
    Gas = 4.788p
    Electric = 14.784p (north west area)
    (prices capped until at least march 2012)

    Still good value in my opinion
  • Why haven't the new prices been reflected on the switching sites?

    Don't know.

    Ebico posted to their facebook page 6 hours ago and prices don't go up till 14 september 2011.
  • Looks like I'll probably be staying with Scottish Power after all.
