Here http://www.babybmw.net/ a forum just for BMW 1 owners - they might know if you ask the right question. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Also bmwland.co.uk has various forums for each class of BMW0

What are you looking for that makes such a difference be it a left or right hand drive car?
Surely it will just be phrased as such,
RHD, steering wheel is on the right...
LHD, steering wheel is on the left...
All with diagrams etc, surely it can't be that difficult even if you looked at the LHD section, as most things would be exactly the same or opposite for a RHD.0 -
Hey! Save the abuse for 4x4 owners!
Not all Beemer drivers are gits! It is funny though, seeing surprised faces when I give way or indicate (I always do). Anyway 1 series owners tend to be nicer than the 5 series owners.
Can't really help the op - try a BMW forum?"fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts." (Bertrand Russell)0 -
Clearly no one can direct me to what I am looking for - don't bother to continue this thread unless you can. I just hoped there might be a simple series available somewhere.
I have now written to BMW, but don't hold out much hope of a satisfactory reply.
They're not going to have a stash of RHD-specific handbooks out there that they only give to people who ask for them.
For printed materials, the economies of scale are massive, this is why you often see 100 page manuals which are actually only 20 page manuals in 5 different languages. It's cheaper to print 5 million 100 page manuals than 5 lots of 1 million 10 page manuals.0 -

And certainly better than 10 million 1 page manuals or 10, 1 million paged manuals

... and there's the real reason the world is disappearing under a pile of our waste. Forget 1mpg differences here and there, manufacturers selling products for £30,000 are worried about 10p extra profit.0 -
Babybmw is what you need. You'll learn so much on there that you never knew about your car. My only experience with the forum was asking for advice when a friend was buying a 118i, but they seemed like a very knowledgeable and friendly bunch. This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.0

My experience of reading car handbooks is that you need to be sitting in the car when you read them."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
