Notification that bus stop is to be moved outside my house
Options
I have been notified that the local bus company want to move a bus stop outside my house. This is at the request of a new neighbour who has developed a previously commercial property into residental property and now (surprise surprise) wants the bus stop moved from outside their house as it's disruptive.
Our next door neighbours property is closer to the pavement/road compared to mine, which is set back a few feet.
However i have an established driveway to the front of my property and access will be a problem if buses are pulling up in front of the house. I would potentially be driving in and out near to passengers who are waiting for the bus.
Can they do this even if I object?
The bus stop, is an inherent characteristic; buses stop there. Someone who is developing a house goes and looks at the street and sees the bus stop; what do they think will happen when they move in? I doubt they thought the bus stop would cease to be used. So they try get it moved after the fact. It's a bit like someone buying a house near an airport and expecting them to move the flightpath...
any help or suggestions gratefully received

Is it the bus company or the local council?
If it's the council's planning department, and they are notifying you about a planning application, then get your objection in.
Maybe enlist the help of your local councillor too.0 -
In this area bus stops are provided by the council, nothing to do with the bus company.I am not a cat (But my friend is)0

okay redneck it may not be a flightpath but i'm sure you get my point.
Thanks for the advice wealdroam it's the bus comapny that have notified us, I will be objecting0 -
Access to my property is the main reason and that the bus stop is already in an established place, which the neighbours knew when they developed the property. I would have thought most people would object to a bus stop moving outside their house.0

Why will the bus stop restrict your access?0 -

I wouldn't object to a bus-stop outside my house, it would be very handy.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -
