Sony 750i mobile has MP3 player fault.Help!!

I'm going to try to upgrade my fireware as there seems to be a bug in the uad cable and I checked my fireware and its the one with the bug.

on the front screen, do the following key strokes

> *<<* <*

<> are left and right on the joystick.

the go to service info and then software info. What are the first 7 characters? that is the firmware you have. Mine is R1CA021, the latest one.

They are being downloaded wrong as i tried doing this for my brother and when we plugged the phone to the computer it was showing up that the music was on the phone but looking at the phone there was none on there ...you have to use the phones software to get the music on the phone

You do not have to use the software! Drag and drop will do! i don't even have the sony software installed on my machine.

Grace2much, If you need to upgrade your firmware, it is quite easy to do and you can do it yourself, rather than take it to a service centre. But if this is a new phone i can't believe you have a phone with old firmware.

The USB is a lot quicker, but it does sound like grace2much might have a firmware issue...

Anm, sounds a silly question but where is the sony software? I have loaded the PC Suite software CD disk:o but I can't see any software for transfering songs etc.

I upaded the firmware but still have the same problem.

Bolo, I transfered your song via drag and drop in "My Computer" and again I see it on the memory card in "my computer" but not in my phone..........phew my grey haie is going white lol

But now to the good news one and all. Its fixed:j

I think the fireware helped. But I also remove the PC suite and went to the sony site and downloaded the new version. I then used the file transfer software to transfer my songs and your's bolo and hey presto it worked.....I'm amazed and glad. Though I'm not worrying about it now since it works via the sony software (which is very basic) but there still is something wrong that you cannot drag and drop or use Win Media player.

So a speacial thank you to bolo for his PM and prompting ideas and to Anm for the software hint and to all who took time to reply.
