but since the news report is based on the fact that the local council was taking planning action against the farm shop because management was turning it into a 'mini Tesco' I feel sure that we're talking about the same people.
I can see why... looks like a supermarket with masses of stock!

Hi,my order arrived today.Very pleased.A few things were out of stock.A lot of things had 2012 dates on them. Will def use again.I ordered £160 pounds worth,it came in 5 very heavy parcels,It was free postage if you spent over £50.The Postage with approved foods would of been £10+.I live in scotland.
Delivery charges must have changed. There's no longer any reference to free delivery (£50 spend) unless I'm missing something?0 -
I just noticed that too - have they changed already?0
-
I refer you to my earlier post
I noticed a few changes to the delivery prices & some products since last week: up to 25kg = £5.50 delivery & each 25kg extra is another £5.50 so they have gone over to the AF/FB/BB4L system of weight allowance rather than total spend.
Article in The Grocer Magazine 23 July 2011 gives this info:
"The site was launched by Ross Assenheim, owner of Barleylands farm shop, in Billericay, Essex.
Assenheim said the idea came from customer feedback in the farm shop. "Visitors from all over the country said they wished they had a shop like this where they live," he said.
Although Rosspa buys most ambient supplies from residual wholesalers and some are short-dated, Assenheim said he would not sell out-of-date stock."

My order arrived at 10am today, one ambient box with notes "handle with care" and a polystyrene insulated box marked "perishable".
The chilled groceries are very good! still v cold, every item bagged & wrapped - my freerange eggs were individually padded with tissue then the box wrapped in 2 layers of bubblewrap. The chilled veg looks to be of top quality & I can't wait to try the enormous bunch of radishes (59p!)
I took a photo so will post up later
a big :T from me!!
(as a side note, these polystyrene boxes are excellent for growing your own salad or baby carrots in!)0 -

Hi mymerrywidow,
Can you please tell me if they charge at the checkout or once they have picked the items?
I am well impressed and I am thinking about giving them a go.
Thanks,
