Unlocking for Nokia phones (merged threads)

I have been thinking about buying a PAYG Nokia 1100 possibly on virgin as they are the cheapest. I know how I could get the phone unlocked, what I wanted to know was that the unlock would allow me to use any UK sim in the phone, but would it also be possible use a foreign PAYG sim in the phone when I am abroad.

you can get it unlocked by posting your imei-model and network here and someone will give you the code (although a few of the 1100s are proving hard to unlock?)
you can then use it abroad with any sim you like, but remember the phone is dual band so only in those countries (not usa etc)

Hi no matter what code i try i still cant manage to get my nokia 1100 unlocked which is locked to virgin (uk).

After I put in code when i get to the last digit which always is a # it always says "Not allowed" and then dissapears to say "insert sim".


Does anybody have any idea how I could get this nokia 1100 which is locked to virgin, unlocked????????

my nokia 1100,but tryed them and nothing seems to work.
I see a site that guarantees unlocking for it for £1.89 or your money back!
so am gona try it.I will let you know if it worked.

well just requested a refund as they said,if they cant unlock it they will give
refund.

They better because they just wasted my time.
