Ryanair luggage costs ??

My partner has cocked up on booking a flight to Poitiers from Stansted soon - she has opted to pay £40 to take a suitcase ( not using the under seat matchbox allowance ! ) - but does the £40 include both directions ??

Some French staff member old her that it did - but she got the feeling he was fobbing her off and it might be a different story when we return back

any help/insite would be much appreciated !! :)
As Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question ! ;)

Does it not in the email confirmation you have luggage allowance for coming back
  • Yes - it does say "per person / per one way flight " - just checked the website as well :( - cant ammnd it on line either - can add but not subtract - so the French bloke was fobbing her off !

AFAIK if you buy a return flight you can't buy hold baggage for one leg only - unless you do it at the airport or via the call centre, in which case it will cost you double anyway.

...........All Ryanair flights are one way,as such you can book luggage for that flight only..........if you choose to book 2 flights (one coming back) you can choose either or all

"the underseat matchbox allowance"............that's not a fair comment, the allowance is as good as most and a lot better than some, and it's not "underseat",you can use the overhead lockers if you get on among the first 100 passengers.

That's not entirely true. The booking system works differently when you book a return flight - for example, both flights are priced in the currency of the outgoing flight. When you select the number of bags you do so for the whole booking, not a specific leg.

Make sure your hand luggage is within the dimension stated on the website - including handles & wheels.
And that it is within the weight allowance.

If not, it may have to go into the hold and you'll have to pay for that.
