OK to try and answer everyone ( If I miss you out it is because I forgot not because I didn't want to reply)
I have done the superstores and local co-op and pub (only thing for 5 miles) the local vets have notice too. We have done the major dog forums as well as he is so good with dogs and have spoke to the 2 boarding sites as we checked for prices before and they could have taken a kitten or younger cat but not one his age.
I have used google, up my street etc and have called over 20 centres but they are all full and with at least a 2 month waiting list, I have tried dog centres as well to see if they could help.
I honestly don't think help is out there Debit as I have tried all around the Leicestershire area and have come up with nothing at all.
There is a post on catchat right now about him
He is at least 8 ( we had him 8 years ago and he was from the RSPCA and they said he could be up to 18 months old at that point) he has a weeping eye from a damaged tear duct and is also often sick after eating ( he eats to fast and up it comes about 10 minutes later)
He is all black and is a lovely thing with a personality but he is slowly killing me...lol
Oh and I am in LeicestershireThere is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;

He sounds like a lovely chap, and it also sounds like you have tried everything in your power to help him
I hope something good comes from all your efforts soon. I grew up in Leicestershire, but moved away some years ago, otherwise I would have liked to have helped out. 0 -
The problem with longterm fostering is, someone is going to want some form of payment to cover vet bills and food for him, I don't know anyone that would be willing to do all of this for free

The R.S.P.C.A do a fostering scheme, I think it's around £5 per week or something but this is usually for women looking to flee domestic violence to save them from loosing their pets. May be worth speaking to them though http://www.rspca.org.uk/allaboutanimals/helpandadvice/petretreat site is down for maintenance at the moment, should be back up in a little while.
I wish I could say I could take him for you, I've just tried to catch hubby before his shift started at work, I didn't have any luck as he'd already been called out. I won't get to speak to him now until after midnight and without speaking to him first, I can't say anything (I couldn't see him objecting) but I'd rather speak to him to get a feel for how he would feel about adding to our menagerie beforehand.:o0 -

i totally understand Gothicfairy - i brought my cats from abroad and they had to live in a one bed place for 5 months while my flat purchase was coming through. Both were also outdoors cats. one of them was okay with it - he curled up and went to sleep for 5 months. The other just HATED being indoors and tried every trick in the book to get out.
TBH he nearly drove me insane - i totally get how tired, stressed and irritable you must feel right now. Mine was yowling - really really yowling - all night long. every night. for 5 months. At one stage (i was nearly in tears most nights) i had to put him in a cat boarding kennel for a weekend just to get some sleep, de-stress and have a break.
In the end, i muddled through the 5 months, we moved into my little flat with a small garden and we all got over it. It was utterly horrendous but we got there in the end.
The point is that the cat did not get better - he got more and more stressed, unhappy and vocal as time went on. He wanted to go out and that was that. it was only because i definitely knew there was an endpoint that i didn't re-home him. How heartbreaking would that be - bringing your cat over from Australia and then having to give him away once he got here!!
I am sorry i cannot help...the point of my tale was to say that some cats just can't settle indoors and it ends up reducing you to a total wreck. Your kitty definitely sounds like re-homing is the only option. You may have to be less picky though - if the Cats Protection League take him for example, you won't be able to meet his new owners...0 -
Try asking for help on the purrsinourhearts forum - google should throw up the link.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

Have you tried the local paper? Not as an ad but as a story? You need the features department. I'm another one panicking about the chap's fate. Also local radio may take it up. Local tv? Facebook page?
It will mean you will have to agree to a photo etc but if it helps find him a home. I am in sympathy for your situation, and hope for something better for you all.
I have x5, I live in an area where people (idiots) think it is a good idea to dump their cats, please don't do this. Never ever a good idea.0 -

Glad you have tried catchat, they have a forum too where you can ask for help. Another site is "preloved" But please dont give him away for free unless you are really sure about the people. It could be dangerous for him.0
