We don't have anything in writing at all and there is no tenancy agreement etc..We would just be moved as it were.
Not sure I want to argue with anyone here as I don't fancy waking up being towed to a lay-by..lol

Also really could cope with another eviction this year

Very few tenants in caravans are given written tenancy agreements. Although one does not exist in writing you still have a right to stay on the site. The owner has given you permission to stay on the site and is accepting rent payments from you so you have an agreement. Do you have a copy of the site rules? That will be further evidence that you have a right to stay.

No site rules in writing either..Not a thing, but if there was a problem I would just find myself moved so really just keeping my head down at the moment until I can find somewhere else.

Harrasment and illegal eviction is a criminal offence. If the site owner moves your van without your permission then go to the police. Anyway, it sounds as if you have made your mind up. No-one wants an old cat do they.

I do totally understand what you are saying and I know that I could go to the police etc but back in the real world where would that get me ?

Back on a site where I am not wanted and having to live with that stress ?
Or trying to get a caravan moved with no transport or having to pay someone to move me back ...

I just can't see there being a good outcome from even starting down that route.

I am going to give it another week and try everything I can and although people might not like free ads for cats how is that worse then an animal being given to a shelter when most round here don't do home visits for cats anyway.
He was from the RSPCA and never had a home visit when we got him.

There must be a way around this problem as I really would like to try and keep him but he can not go out by himself and that is the to and bottom of it.
Also if we end up moving sites every 28 days he can't go out then either so that will not really change his situation

Have you tried putting (free) notices up at all the vets/pet shops/supermarkets/post office windows in your area? Could you call cattery or kennel owners and ask if any of their clients would be willing to foster the cat (with you providing the food)? Dog owners may be ideal, as there will be no conflict between two different cats and your cat is already used to beig around dogs. Just some thoughts to possibly try out ;)

There is no law against it. Illegal means a criminal offence has been commited and there isn't any laws like that. If a landlord decides they do not want pets, you declare you have none, yet they find that you do all they can do is issue an eviction notice against you. Either 2 months or at the end of a fixed term. The landlord won't have a criminal record for evicting you and they won't get a fine or a prison sentence.

ok, not illegal, what i mean is that no one can put unfair terms in a contract, i thought it was against housing law to try to enforce the no pets rule

so prior to the end of the fixed term (at the fixed term the landlord can rightly do what he wants) he would have to go to court to enforce eviction, he would have to give the reason for an eviction order request and the judge would decide whether this was reasonable. the judge may not give that order, leaving the landlord to refuse to renew the tenancy at the end of the fixed term, but the tenant cannot be 'kicked out' prior to that just for having a pet or being seen to 'breach' the tenancy agreement by having the pet. its been tried according to the housing boards here and its seen as an 'unfair' contract and wont be enforced.

I don't know what area you are living in, but there are lots of animal shelters around, you can even find them online if you have access to a computer/internet. Do a google search, and either email or phone them, explain your position, and that you may have to have a perfectly healthy cat put down if he can't be fostered or rehomed, offer to pay toward his food, these people care for animals and I believe they will do their best to help, as its only for a short while.

My cat was a rescue from the RSPCA. I really sympathise with your situation, it must be very difficult for you, but help is out there. You might find a rescue close to your area if you look on "Catchat" they even have advice on rehoming on this page: http://www.catchat.org/rehome

    Good luck.:)
