I always seem to get here too late to make any meaningful contribution.
Red Ruby: Fight your corner about your Dad's care. I know it's demoralising to have these continual battles with the authorities but they are all too keen to pass the reponsibility to someone else. Please keep him at home as long as possible, it's all downhill once you go down the Home route, however good it is it's not like home. Lots of loving thoughts coming your way.
Hester: well done for putting your foot down. Next time try saying that you have to go now but will be available for a meeting at 7.00am the following morning. It worked for me!
Proudly producing a HG salad tonight. Well, tomatoes, lettuce, spring onions and radishes. Cucumber still lying sullenly in its pot, refusing to grow more than 6 inches. it's now on death row.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Evening all! OH's combine has a puncture! He's going to be a while i think..... Still stew in the SC for him when he gets in. - we're trying L/o stew pasties this week too using a HFW recipe - attempting my own rough puff pastry.
I've defrosted some whoopsied tortellini for my dins and i just really want some pasta - i'm not a great beef fan and OH would enjoy more pasties for lunches.
Looking forward to payday next week - think i'll go out on the town with my friend as a little treat. I've been keeping a low profile in my village, it's nice to get out somewhere where i'm unknown!
Need to make OH's lunch for tomorrow - cheese and pickle sarnies i think, and do a milkman order.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Evening all
I'm not feeling too good today. Mixture of vertigo, the headache pain I mentioned yday and feeling a bit down. I struggled to get through work but work kids were looking after me and my colleague took over this afternoon for half hour so I could sit down. I'm going to put pjs on and have early night so will hopefully be better tomorrow.
Os wise - nothing really
Have a good evening all

Evening all,
Been cool here to-day but no rain thank heavens, would like a little heat too though....would be quite happy with 17/18, don't need a heatwave.
Dinner to-day was lamb chops, turnip and potatoes, followed by rhubarb tart and ice-cream....very nice even if the chops (cutlets really) cost over €2 each....just as well we got some sirloin steak on offer....OH would eat steak every day, whereas I like a bit of variety and prefer fish anyway.
Bought a pop up gazebo to-day, and put it up, the last one died in a storm last year, this one I can bring down to low level myself so will be safer in the wind I think. Our outside table and chairs fit nicely underneath, so at least they will stay dry and we can eat outside even if it rains just as we are about to sit down.
2 ripe tomatoes to-day, one was split across the bottom....think that it was a bang from one of the dogs rather than too little water, as it was a fresh split and we have had lots of rain. Hope to get some more mange tout over next couple of days, love them so have been eating them as picked, don't think I will get any into the freezer.
Have been knitting another baby cardigan and almost finished it so that will be one in reserve for whenever somebody has a baby without warning me well in advance.
Hugs to all in need or want of one, congratulations to those who are celebrating, stay safe and warm, sleep well

Evening everyone
A late one from me again. weather has been quite good today till early afternoon when the heavens opened, I missed bringing my washing in so it is still outside soaking wet.
os today spag bol in sc for dinner, kitchen cleaned, some ironing done too. went to my job as lunchtime assistant, finish on Thursday and start new job in sept, excited but nervous at the same time.
DS2 got a fantastic school report all A for effort and has made good progress at his new school, he seems ok about the move to high school in sept. Worked out the cost of his uniform for high school and asked his dad for half who has said not a chance as he has no money and he is only paying me what he has to which is less than £150 p/mth. Think I am going to struggle a little to get everything, but I will see if they have a second hand scheme running at the school to try and lower the costs. Everything has to have the logo on it.
Lou ((hugs)) to you, happy anniversery. Your ds sounds a bright boy.
Redruby glad the social worker has listened to you and your family, hope you get the funding.
Molly41 - Hope the funding is available for your treatment.
Bitsy - Hope you are feeling a bit brighter.
