Afternoon Ladies,
Thank you for all the warm welcomes yesterday.
Hester don't feel guilty for going home on time - what happens if you had an appointment or something similar? People expect too much of people when it comes to working over, and you never get any thanks for it
Julie67 - My DH is exactly like that after a few - I usually end up not talking to him until the morning ... our last major argument was over £20My name comes from previously having a full and part time job, a house and a husband to manage :rotfl:Luckily just the one job now and a more helpful husband (I have been training him!)
I was rather sick yesterday afternoon so I didn't do as much as I had hoped however the kitchen and living room are looking reasonable!! Will get them finished tonight ... and I am well on my way to doing a load of washing a day to keep the CHAOS away (this is my first habit - rather than shine my sink!). I am very much a morning person so I even managed to clean one of my kitchen cupboards this morning - I'm trying to use things up so Pasta in Sauce for dinner.
I have been reading the preparing for winter thread and have to admit with the cold weather sneaking in I have put a nice big rug down in my living room to make it a bit more cosy ... would love some nice throws too (might have to get crocheting).
Have a nice day, weather isn't brilliant here but dry.

Hi folks
Still a lovely day here, will hang out the washing when it's done. Have been to the gym and had a quick browse around Tesco's to price up school uniform, got some bits cheap yesterday in sports direct (shorts, tracksuit bottoms and a winter hat for £10). Need trousers and shirts. Tend to buy school jumpers in the second hand shop at school. And then of course we have the dreaded shoes to buy that seem to cost a small mortgage.
REDRUBY don't know where you live but in Kent people have individual care budgets that they manage themselves, then they can buy in the help they want, a lot of people pay their loved ones to look after them. Hope you can keep your Dad out of a home for as long as possible. I don't think anyone can realise how traumatic the whole situation is until they've been through it themselves.
Must get on, taking DS for a haircut after school. Think I'll re-arrange my lounge.

Just sticking my head round the door. Busy day, went to Rag market and bought some fabric to make a maxi dress
Feeling bit better about situation with DS, will see how things pan out. Made a list of the stuff we're going to do over summer hols, if I say so myself I am looking forward to it as it looks like good fun
Chicken curry for tea tonight. OK DD decided she wanted a nap but I need to wake her so we can walk to school. Here's hoping she wakes up in a good mood rather than an evil one!!
Hugs and spoons all round. Molly go girl with your positive attitudeI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Thanks Jan, she does have a care budget which she manages herself, but at the moment this will only stretch to 7 hours per week, we had a good meeting with the new social worker, (last one was hopeless) this one seems to be more on the ball, she is going to put us forward for the top budget which needs to be agreed by a panel, hopefully we will get it.
My dad had a different type of dementia, one where he will proalby never forget who we are, he still knows all the family, which makes it even harder to comtemplate putting him in a home, we know the time will come, but want to keep him at home as long as we can.
Thanks again xx0 -
meant to say I tried everything on my burnt pan including:
Vinegar
Bicarb
Salt
A Dw tablet
Mr Musccle
Washing powder
None of the above worked, guess what shifted it more than anything ..........................

Hi everyone,
Another busy day preparing for the visitors coming on Thursday. I went to MK and bought afew things I wanted for the house - a new doormat, a big stock pot and a bathroom bin. I also bought some food in M&S (we get discount so it isn't too bad).
This afternoon I waited in for a fridge repair man because it has been slowly leaking a green oily substance but he couldn't find where it was coming from and didn't know what it was (definitely not from anything I've put in there) so that was £85 wasted.
I've done a meal plan forthe next few days, I just need tocheck what ingredients I have and make a list of things I need to buy.
Hope you all have a good day.0 -
Hi all
REDRUBY glad you had a good meeting and your social worker seems to know her stuff. Once you get your decision you can appeal but fingers crossed all will go well
No longer have any radish seedlings as the giant dog decided to have a bit of a dig and sit all 9 st on top of them! DS thought it was hillarious.
