amazon are very very good with damaged kindle in my exoerience

I have just purchased a refurbished Kindle and wanted to look at warranty options. As others have posted here, accidental damage cover gives piece of mind in case my 2yr old launches it across the room, or decides it needs to take a swim in the toilet!!
I was really surprised that the optional warranty didn't cover a refurbished Kindle, so I downloaded the policy guide (I can't post links here as I'm new, but look for "terms and conditions" on the warranty page on the Amazon site
It looks like they have updated the policy on 08/09/11 as that is what is in the PDF filename. There is wording that indicates that they cover refurbished units:
"This insurance only applies to items purchased as new or refurbished. There is no cover for items described as ‘used’ or ‘second-hand’"0 -

Yes, what happened was that I purchased the warranty for my kindle, and uploaded my invoice, and the online system showed "approved". I then emailed them making sure I was covered, they didn't reply so I left a complaint on the reviews for the warranty product and they replied, apologised and said they had decided to change the policy to include refurbs
