Try Pret a Manger? Their sarnies seem to be more even from my experience.

There isn't one near me. Greggs or subway, and although i like subway a little pricey!

I would say legally there's nothing wrong as it contains everything it's supposed to.

    Although the quality looks terrible.

You say you get grumpy when you're hungry... I can completely relate to that :D.
    I would be annoyed also.

It reminds me of when you go to get a coffee and a slice of cake.. you can see all the wonderful pieces, then theres that poor little tiny bit with a little bit broken off and your stood there hoping and preying the worker doesn't pick that one up :D

The only surefire way to be happy with a sandwich is to make it yourself. Shop bought ones are almost always disappointing.

I agree, and was going to write something similar! I am a vegetarian so sometimes struggle to find nice sarnies, I've now started making my own to take to work. Not only are they tasty, but far cheaper than buying them everyday! I also take Nescafe (or similar) cappuccino sachets to make at work - far cheaper than Costa (which is in our workplace)! With the sarnies and coffee, I reckon I save at least £30 per week :j

Although i dislike most i'm quite keen on the prawn from tesco/sainsbury's (not sure why)

I would love to make my own but a naked fridge and my lack of motivation gets in the way of that lol :D

My urrrm Mummy (he he he) makes lunch quite a bit, but when i'm off into town i don't mind buying one or two lunches a week and the occasional costa treat lol

Just don't like being ripped off when i do decide to get lunch out

Yes, a sandwich can definitely be not as described! I went to the very posh cafe at the Tate St Ives, where I was having a short, treat-laden break with my mum. She decided we'd splurge on a couple of sandwiches there, and I blanched at the price, but it was her round and she insisted, so I ordered a ham sandwich - at a hefty £6.50, I think it was. Anyway, it came, and all the ingredients were absolutely lovely, and there was plenty of them, and I knew this because I could see the filling entirley, on account of the sandwich not having a top slice of bread. No - it wasn't written in the menu as a 'Danish' or 'Open' sandwich, but just as a sandwich, which, as I pointed out to them means that you'd expect the ingredients to be, well, sandwiched, ie between two bits of bread.

They were a bit flustered when I asked for the missing slice of bread, said they'd have to 'send to the kitchen for it specially' - I didn't mind, so we waited. The views were lovely, the pot of tea was fine. Eventually an extra slice of bread arrived, and I ate my sandwich. When the bill came, I saw they'd added an extra charge of 50p for the 'roll' ie, the second slice of bread. We didn't pay. I'm afraid I may have given my point of view in a bit of a loud voice, but the whole thing was ridiculous.
Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!
