  • Just updated my siggy too! After having 2 weeks on the trot going over, I did much better this week, but some of it was refunds, so shopping for the week went from £70.33 to just £55.29 :D I was getting a little worried, especially with it being a 5 week month (payday on 26th!), so am glad that i set a weekly budget as opposed to a monthly one. Tesco brought my shopping the other day, only to miss off my youngest sons foods  . I went to Tesco the next day, picked up 3 items (Rice milk, dietary specials bread and some tru-free high fiber crackers) which came to £4.75.

This leaves me with £98.44 to spend if I want to next week. not sure if I should stock up on nappies, toilet rolls and non perishables, or use the money I save to pay for our rabbit bucks neuter. Decisions, decisions :D

    Hi Everybody,

Did my second shop(s), went to Asda on Tuesday and Tesco on Wednesday.

Technically, I failed to stick to a list and ending up spending £60.68. I worked out that of the £53 spent in Asda, if I'd have stuck to the list I would only have spent £27.89!! bit of an overspend there.

However, I have now gone 11 days without a cigarette, I still have £200 in my shopping fund for the next few weeks so I'm not going to start panicking just yet - oh yes and every cupboard is stuffed with food.

    8th Jan-8th February
    08 Jan Tesco £37.09
    15 Jan Tesco/Asda £60.68

Just done todays shop and stocked up on the Thirst Pocket kitchen towel at Tesco, I knew I should have stocked up on the toilet roll at £1.88 as when I went in today they were all gone :(

Still, week 4 has come in at £17.31 so that's not too bad and that was including enough cat food for nearly 2 weeks.
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

    F U Fund currently at £250

I have £50 left after spending £19 at butchers and £7.31 at veg shop. All I need to buy for next week is more fruit and veg as we run out and milk. My month ends on 26th although I do have enough things in freezer to last extra days so may try and stretch it out till the following tuesday so get cheaper Tesco delivery. Am gonna aim for an extra £10 only for this week so I have £40 left (this can go towards having the boiler serviced at a cost of £52 for 15 mins work - in my next life I am a plumber!!)

I am getting worried! Am so under budget feel a blip coming on, however have not had much time or opportunity this week to be challenged by the BOGOF's and suchlike so perhaps not a true reflection. I just am so pleased I found meal planning, and is well worth the rummaging at the weekend, it just takes the hassle out of decisions and have been robotic in following the printed sheet on the noticeboard in the kitchen. (sad I know) DD DS1 DS2 have stopped asking what's for tea? Because they know!

I did use £9.98 of my advantage points though for smellies which I haven't accounted for but they are free right? So glad I am past the nappy buying stage, console yourselves with the fact that they grow up and eat you out of house and home!

Mr T has noticed too and sent me a once only use voucher so I think I will take advantage of that to do as many others have and stock pile now that my cupboards are nearly empty! I plan to leave it 24 hours before ordering though in case I get carried away..................................

My December receipts have been totalled up and came in at a staggering £320!

    Good luck to everyone

    Hi monstersmummy

But he's a boy, they just get worse! At least when they were little I had some control and they actually liked my cooking! Now they can speak they just say " Is there any foodage?" in a manly voice and I now know what a vending machine feels like! All I can suggest is dumplings, yorkshire puddings and HM pizza.

You have all my sympathy good luck

Know what you mean about budgetting between that and meal planning we're saving loads. CONGRATS on the giving up smoking :T :T

Dh went shopping for milk and bread twice and spent about £15  so total now £240.77 Left to spend £59.23

Have lots in freezer and cupboard so I think I will stay in total this month. If I manage that I will be well pleased. £300 for the month, unheard of for us :rotfl: I will keep trimming it by £20 a month though to see how far we can get it down :rotfl:
