  • Somehow or other I have managed to cut down even more than I planned-its getting easier by the day. I have so far cancelled my Tesco order twice as I don't need the stuff! Family of 4 adults and one 13 yr old-one person not here more than twice a week though. To only spend £40 per week for 3 weeks on the trot is a first for me. If I can do this for another week I will be ovr the moon. This has only been a success for one reason though. I made inventories of the cupboards! The freezer is yet to be done but everytime there is a space I fill it with a loaf of bread-that way I will eventually run it down.
Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults
  • Well, as you can see from my sig, I'm well and truly over budget this week ( curse you MrT and your bogof)... left with under £25 for next week ........I'm not holding my breath

    Hi

Feeling chuffed, have come under budget this week at £51.94. It is definatly down to meal planning. It has even made my life easier knowing what we are going to have for tea rather than thinking on the day What can I have for tea.

Have done another meal plan for next week and have costed it up on the Tesco website and seem to be well within budget. I think it is safe to bring my grocery bill down £10 per week to £50.

    Hi all,
I'm going to jump in right here for the challenge. I'd like to come in under £250.00 for the three of us plus 2 cats and g/pig, including pet food, toiletries, alcohol as well as food.

So far I'm on target at £126.75 to date, so I think I might get there.

I tried joining in November, but aborted it straight away due to lack of discipline....:o

    Fingers crossed for this one.

  • Hello DFW's

Am really pleased with myself as so far this week I have managed to not spend any money on groceries at all. I'm still feeding myself from all the ready cooked meals in the freezer. Bread has also come out of the freezer and always use powdered milk, so so far so good. (Am only feeding myself)

This is quite an achievement for me as I usually buy stuff even if I don't need to, just to appease the "must shop now" demon. Want to buy stuff just because the withdrawal symptoms are really bad. Since I've given up smoking - 1month and 1 week ago I am really struggling because I have no reason to pop into the shops anymore and am really missing my shopping fix, but am hoping to get over that soon.

Am managing to save some money, even if it's not alot, but the psychological habit is harder to deal with, have spent the last nine years doing nothing but shopping, whether I needed to or not, hence the mess I am in now, and it's a hard habit to lose but am really trying hard.

Thanks to all of you for the support and help here, it's really appreciated and helps so much.

    Ta

Just realised it's over half way through the month and I have over half left, I don't believe it. Freezers got quite a bit in and so has the cupboard. Downside breadmakers arrived so need some more ingredients but that will save me in the long run, local shop is almost £1 a loaf!
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • Hello DFW's

Today I spent £ 9.99 on groceries, incredible when I think that I had a shopping list, went to three different shops and basically bought what was on my list and came home to add it up to find that it was exactly £9.99 I spent, how scary is that! Freaked myself out completely! LOL! Anyway that's my money spent for this week with a saving of £0.01p LOL!

    :T :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :T

Hope you all have a good day, thanx.

  • As I said before I tweaked my allowance this month as it was my first month and I just took it down too far. I must have spent an absolute fortune before. I am feeling not too bad with what I have spent and still within my 2nd budget. I am going to do my damndest to stay within that and will review my spend diary and set my target for next month as I am determined to reduece this. xx

  • Spent £209.32 over budget already but I've started shop the tightwad gazette way and bulk buying things on offer like loo rolls and coffee. I've started a proper price book and if something is cheap then i'm going to bulk buy. This should work out more cost efficient in the long run (I hope:D)
