cerazette users - a Question.

Morning All,
I've been using Cerazette for the last 3 months, having experienced bad headaches with previous pills.
My question is, when did your bleeding stop, or didn't it? Mine has slowed right down, but now takes 7 days to end and starts after 3 weeks exactly.
Also, I'm really missing being able to skip my period, as i could on previous tablets, particularly as i'm going on holiday shortly!
Should I give Cerazette more time or is it time to change..?
Thanks,
Alipops x

Give it more time - I think it can take quite a while for the body to settle in to a new type of contraception. I tend to get a light period about every 3 months.0

I have been on Cerazette for around 6 months now, they say give it 6 months to get it used to your body. For the first 3 months I had no period and then when I did get one it lasted 2 and a half weeks, 2 weeks later I got my next period its lasted 2 weeks also so did the other 2 i've had. The first 3 months I had pregnant like feelings - wasn't nice.
I have just started this period, fingers crossed it last no longer that a week!! I've given the pill 6 months and my body just can't get used to it - there are alot of stories on the net regarding this pill, I'd give it up!

Ali, I've been taking cerazette for a few years now, and only get the odd bit of very very light breakthrough now and again. I wouldn't even call it a period. If it suits you in other ways, give it a bit more time. Sorry, I can't tell you how long to wait, I can't remember..Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

Evryone's body reacts slightly differently - not sure why having a period would adversely affect your holiday. Have you never seen the Tampax ads?Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

I was on cerazette for over 2 years- it took about 6 months for the bleeding to settle down. Be warned though - I got pregnant on this pill and the pregnancy ended up with me collapsing with an ectopic pregnancy which the doc believed was caused by taking the pill before I realised I was pg. I know of 4 other ladies who have also fallen pregnant (recently) while taking cerazette and they have each had a miscarriage or like myself ectopic. Just a word of warning, I'm sure a lot of people are fine on it but I will never ever take it again0

Hi
Ive been on cerazette for years and I'm one of the lucky ones that never bleeds at all and have had no side effects; but when I tried to come off them I had horrendous side effects. Boobs so sore that I would explode if my daughter hugged me; a heavy feeling in my womb like I was going to come on but never did. I knew I wasn't PG as wasn't doing the deed but other people I know were constantly paranoid they were pregnant and forever taking tests. One of my friends is on cerazette and has bleed all the way through.0 -
Each period I had on cerazette lasted for 2-3 weeks
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0 -

I really don't get on with Tampons, besides although my period lasts 7 days, it's so light for all those days I wouldn't have thought they'd make a light enough one!0 -
Thanks everyone for your replies.
I need to go to the doctor tomorrow for the 3 mnth check, think I might explore some other possibilities. I came off Femodene [sp?] as I was having cracking headaches, so they put me on this mini pill instead.
Apart from this frequent and longer than normal periods, I feel alright on Cerazette. I did google some reviews of it and they're not all exactly peachy....0 -
I have been on Cerazette for around 4 years now i think. I never, ever have a period and i don't get any side effects. I can't remember how long it took for my bleeding to settle down but i would say give it a bit more time.Knock me down I'll get right back up again, I'll come back stronger than a powered up Pac-Man0
