This is turning this forum into just a "notice board" rather than a "chat forum".
There are many issues that arise after an official closing date eg. the closing date gets extended, the offer turns out to be a scam, there are welcome/unwelcome follow ups from the companies involved.
Please don't be so quick to lock off threads - the impression this gives is that no more comment is required.
(Though if that is the case, then let us know this is just meant to be a notice board!)
or if you have an issue with how a particular board is being run email abcon, discussing these matters on a thread can cause it to go off topic which is unfair on the OP,I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. First read the original thread - make up your own mind if you think it is a scam!
Original thread
Anyway the survey after being temporarily closed appears to have reopened, make of that what you will:
"National Lottery" survey

rather than start a new thread you could have pm'd the board guides explaining that the survey had reopened and they could have unlocked the original threadI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. I was initially going to do exactly that and PM the board guide(s), however on checking their user id's discovered that they were offline and had been for some time.
As the survey could potentially get closed again at short notice, I thought the safest thing would be to start a new thread, and allow the board guide(s) to merge the threads if they felt it was necessary.

I don't think I close too many threads after the offer has closed. I locked this one due to the fact that it had ended and no-one was sure if it was ligit!!!
I disagree, the only threads that have been closed are ones that are repeated, totally off topic or the offer has been closed for months.Smartasss wrote:There are many issues that arise after an official closing date eg. the closing date gets extended, the offer turns out to be a scam, there are welcome/unwelcome follow ups from the companies involved.
This is correct, that is why most stay open for months and this is why there are specific threads for websites like Tesco or Dixons.Smartasss wrote:Please don't be so quick to lock off threads - the impression this gives is that no more comment is required.
I don't feel I am quick at locking threads, most threads are locked because a new one has been started as the old one got to big.
Finally, I would like to ask why you posted this here? Are you trying to start a dicussion on it. Also you are talking about me why not say my name. I do have one. I simple pm would have been better, I'd I would have appreciated it rather than attacking me (which I feel you were doing).
Please remember that this is a volunteer job, I'm just trying to help out the site! So give me a break! i don't have to do this you know! This site does take up a lot of my time as people don't search so I have to keep merging the threads....Please remember this!
Note to all: I have replied to smartass' post. This is not the place for further discussion on this. Instead This site: Questions and Suggestions is a more suitable board.0 -
I just did the survey - good grief, it did go on a bit, didn't it? But I had the feeling it was quite well thought out.
What is the stuff about 'you said you subscribe to National Lottery...'? Does the link pick the survey up after answering initial questions? I felt a little uncomfortable with that. (Not uncomfortable enough to stop me doing the survey, though!)

I have removed some of the post above.
