    It might just be some confusion Malak. If it is a bona fide company they would not trick you. They will know you cannot get confirmation the council will pay your LHA until you have submitted a claim along with proof of your tenancy.

    Dear suelees, I do not know what they were thinking about this letter ,
    I went to that company and I have explain to him that is impossible and the council confirmed that , but unfortunately he did not to leason what I say and he said ( this is not my business , I need that letter ).

    Checked out the website and it looks all above board but you really can't tell from this. How did you get on with Shelter Malak ?

    But I am feeling disappointed , cos I am not sure if the agency will return my money cos I have explained that letter impossible without a lease but did not lesson .
    Unfortunately I thought the meaning about that letter from my current one and the egency did not explain he want it from a new one only after my signature on reservation paper

    i suggest you also contact trading Standards, who may encourage the letting agency to return the deposist on the grounds that any competant agency would know that the condition they imposed was unachieveable.

    Date of incorporation 20/01/11 so barely been open any time at all.

    Lettings agent have no need to have any qualifications or knowledge of the law. Only 42 premises in totla available and I do not think a studio with a shared bathroom really meet any legal requirements (other than needing to be registered as an HMO)?
