I love Hebrew when its written in a modern script like that. Have no idea what is says, but looks like something out of Star Wars rather than a thousands of year old language. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I was going to name the poster I thought best matched the homeowner and the thrower (from their views of themselves), but discretion got the better of me. I'm not tiring of seeing that video though. Would love to know where it happened. Truth be told, I would prefer the above 20 degrees as I feel the cold a fair bit but I am too worried about the cost to whack it on any more than it is. Plus, amy warmer here and middle son would spend the whole of winter in a rage because if he overheats, he gets violent...bearing in mind that when we went up town on Monday, he was still only in a T shirt and jeans and was moaning about being too hot, it was barely above freezing outside!
His heating issues do cause some problems though, we were once reported to social services as he was wearing inappropriate clothing for the time of year...thankfully, a consultant's letter and a report from his special needs playgroup (where he would strip naked and go on rampages due to being dressed appropriately for the weather) did the trick. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I hate these gated fronts that some people seem to need in order to feed their egos. Very, very few people really need them for security. I do not blame the delivery man for being annoyed. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Please don't hold back DG, you are our residnet expert on these things.
So basically as long as I become the local MP I should be fine flipping properties to my hearts content but otherwise don't?I read DG's advice differently: Do it if it makes commercial sense, but expect to pay tax on any profits. Obviously, the tax affects the risk/reward balance.
And I don't think you've actually read Doozer's advice differently from each other. I read it that michaels's "don't" referred to flipping his PPR, not to doing up a house as such, which is the same as your "do it but expect to pay tax on it."
Doozer - if anything I posted could be read as suggesting that you were flipping homes to avoid paynig tax, I apologise. I didn't think anything of the kind. In fact my understanding of your reasons for moving so many times was far too hazy for me to think anything at all, beyond sympathy for the disruption of several moves, and admiration for coping with it.
lostinrates wrote: »well, I think that if you think it equates with something you would consider off colour in that situation that's telling. The whole mp thing, when the rest of us try and arrange our finances to best suit our circumstances seems rather hyocritical now.
You see it all over Mse (and life but I try to pretend thats not so) and it depresses me profoundly.
People respond to incentives. If you tell them they can have free money, or have to pay less tax, or whatever, then most of them will do whatever they can within the rules to maximise what they get. There are a few who will actually lie and cheat, and a few who will stand on a point of principle and not claim what they're entitled to, but they're rare. Policy should be decided by being realistic about human nature.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
If you flip your PPR properly ie actually shift the family into it and live there as your home, then there is little the revenue will do. They enforce the rules and check you have kept to them, but if you follow the rules they will not object. Where they have some leeway is if they consider you trading. How they do that is look at whether you took out a BTL mortgage etc, so establishing your intention from the start.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Thank you, LIR. I received my Chanukah present last night (a bottle of port), and I gave DW her Anglepoise, which she is really chuffed about. The kids all got chocolate money, which they used to be more thrilled about when little.
DS2, he of the "some people also believe there are fairies at the bottom of the garden" repetitive quote, declares Chanukah a very acceptable festival and is looking forward to receiving a different present each night! He got the irony of receiving Richard Dawkins "The selfish gene" for night 1.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
