I know gen didn't...so you don't have to leave MSE if you leave europe, right?

Don't even think about leaving MSE!
oh sue, no more standing around utside! PLEASE take care of yourself.

Yes, please look after yourself. Keep warm, and if people want to talk to you, make them come inside to do it.
I ws back on my stick on wednesday....but its just my knees and fight hand that are seizing up, and not even that badly.

I love the idea of a fight hand - conjures up all sorts of entertaining mental images.
The H say the old has mental capacity to make their own decisions ..... and have been getting the old to make them. I then popped round the corner to see the old and the old said "Ah, you're home then ..... I'm doing the dishes, can you check the back door's locked" .... so .... the old is OK to make decisions from Planet Ga Ga.

    :)

We won't be getting the old back before Xmas though and the old won't be returning to their own home.

Oh deep joy! Still, as long as nobody tries to send her away to live on her own, it shouldn't do too much harm for them to ask her what she wants and let her make a few decisions. Most importantly, how are you feeling?

Went to see my dad again today. When I got there, youngest bro was helping him make a list of things he needs to do in the short term, and things he wants to do in the medium term. He has got some ideas already, and has written on the list that he "doesn't want to fritter away" the rest of his life, although he's not going to make any irreversible decisions yet. There was also a realistic self-assessment that he's reasonably fit and fully mentally OK but does everything slowly now, including thinking. One item on the list (not sure which of them thought of it) was to decide whether he wants to stay in his house, with a tentative suggestion of staying there for another 10 years and then downsizing. Not bad positive thinking for an 85-year-old. :)

Youngest bro is going to be there quite a lot for the next few days - he's arranging to work at the office his company have near where my dad lives. So I'm to stop driving up and down the motorway, stay at home for a few days and try to make my kids do some sorting out of our clutter so that there's room to breathe by the time my dad arrives on Thursday for Christmas. The deadline might kick me into action at last. :o

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I'm still trying to warm up from earlier! I will try not to repeat the exercise of standing about while it is snowing/sleeting but I honestly thought it was only going to be for a couple of minutes and thought I could just about manage that.....it turned out to be a bit longer than that.

My energy levels are so low right now, all I want to do is sleep but of course, that is not possible whilst the children are awake but at least with the schools now broken up for Christmas, it means that help is available with the shopping or jobs around the house and someone to push me in the wheelchair on bad days around the supermarket (today would typically be a wheelchair day).

I also think me and ex have finally reached friendship again, we are able to talk without getting shirty with each other, more weirdly, I can talk to his wife, my used to be closest friend with no animosity! Think we have all moved on in life and got over the nastiness of the split up.

It still doesn't solve the problem of his view of seeing the boys and it is still very frustrating but if we can at least discuss the boys or life with friendliness, then that has to be good for everyone.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    What a lovely man. :A

I'm sure spoiling you gives him something nice to think about to take his mind off work, and I wonder if maybe what he most needs ATM is to do something for somebody who appreciates it.

Sue, I'm so glad to hear there are some positive developments in your situation. :)

dam, can't quote lots of posts. Sorry to hear about your M LydiaJ. I totally missed that news. Good news about bro being nearby for a while though.
One of my staff had a bereavement last week that was sudden. One minute mum not feeling great and a week later she sadly passed away in hospital. So difficult to know what to say so I listened instead. She wanted to come back in this week (she only does 2 days) but has the funeral next wk just before Xmas.

that's good. at HFH she seemed to have ''previous'' (the ladies on the till were fairly meek and quiet generally, and took all sorts of dscourtesy from shoppers I saw in my time there, )so maybe she saves her ire for people there. hopefully though she'sjust grown up :)
:rotfl:Previous haha. Maybe it's different when food shopping as hunger can make people tetchy.

Have moved the sheep up closer to the house. Snow is very cold but wet, so it is not settling, but we are just being safe.
How many sheep do you have Tom? I didn't realise you were a sheep farmer though LIR did mention you knew a lot about sheep as you had some. I thought you had 2 or 3 like pets...but maybe I am wrong and you aren't a sheep farmer and do have only a couple.:o

I woke up with a healthier frame of mind about the ''foreign'' thing this morning and keep seeing thins that support this position. We've heard, despite the grim news, things on the financial ground in Italy aren'tas bleak as one might think.
I didn't realise the NYC was about you guys going to live there. That's a biggy move too.......would you have to sell the house? What would happen to the horses? I don't envy your decision at all....so hard to weigh it all up.

Those names for the ferals made me lol. Why is she called Gambia?

The feralcat the Gambia turned up today in a shocking state, she'sabsolutely emaciated. I think she might have to be PTS :( she let me stroke her she was so starving. And then she bit me, hard, four times. Last winter Bomay DuckDoughnut scratched me,and i had to have antibiotics, this winter The Gambia. Still, she's eating up now,on something more appropriate than me!

I might try a guess before I go to bed.:)

Gambia is a white/tortie or blk/white patchwork cat with a patch the shape of Gambia on her flank or face?

Bomay DuckDoughnut. I am going to guess it could be Bombay Duck Doughnut as she likes Bombay duck and doughnut best out of LIR's kitchen scraps.
    Night Night.:)

I think that LIR is too nice for her own good. A cat that bit me even once would get the boot, I'm afraid.

That happened literally to my favourite cat, Gloves. My toes were poking out of the bottom of the duvet, and Gloves pounced. The pure reflex action on my part ended up with Gloves the other side of the room. Funnily enough, she never did that again. She'd obviously learned that those particular mice packed a punch that would make Walt Disney proud.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?
