Anyone know anything at all about DAB radios in cars? I'm thinking about getting a new car stereo with DAB. Are the radios good enough to pick the signal up properly & consistently? Would I need to retune every time I started the car?

two years ago dopester told me not too (I wanted one for dh). I really hope that's changed, I'd love one in the next car.

Today DS is 11. We are off out to collect a takeaway. DD chose to eat out when she turned 8 last month, but DS has decided not to. I expect he will want to watch either Star Trek or the Simpsons while eating it. A boy who knows what he likes and likes what he knows.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

We were out chatting with a neighbour who is 85 but still very active. He told us that he plays bridge with a lady of 105. I asked him whether he bets on the games, to which his reply was "Not with her, she takes too much money off me." :)
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

After 4 days of no BBM people are so angry that there has almost been riots! Luckily, no-one can arrange it.

That's the kind of anecdote that I recall. My memory has never been great, so I may be recalling from 2+ years ago.

Local store had options with DAB radio included, & they were the same price as analogue car stereos, so I'd rather have DAB in the car if I can, but would like to know they work!:o

went to optician, sight test and contact lens appointment, £50 lighter.

And contact lenses will be approx £200 mark.

I have learnt a very important lesson in my eye care this week. Don't blink else you'll end up £250 lighter.

    :/

dog dog is well and truley back to normal...even her altered action is looking better...less diviating. Today when we went for a walk she was bombing around like a lunatic. She doesn't really ''get'' balls...though she'll chase apples with glee, but she does love other dogs chasing balls. Our standard walk is on a big field/park where there are lots of other dog walkers. I always park at the quietest end and big dog pads along with me and has some sprints with dog dog, but dog dog keeps an eye out for dogs on the far side of the field with a ball throwing person. Its her joy to reach the dog or ball before the dog has the ball, then run with the dog back to the owner then, come speeding back to me....only to repeat the process with the next ball through. She must run half a mile for every thirty yards I walk at the beginning of our walk! Its just wonderful to see her run, and I'm really happy we have somewhere dog friendly for social walks. We rarely meet a poorly socialised dog up there, and my dogs are very good about them, giving a wide berth.

Today we met a collie who wanted to play and was a bit over eager, but whose owner/walker wouldn't allow it. Its very hard on poorly socialised/dog aggressive dogs. Mine might be excellent guard dogs but I'm so happy they are well dog socialised: I'm convinced its a huge benefit to their quality of life.

They are doggo now on their sofas. ;) DH is going out tomorrow with some new friends in the morning and the dogs and I might try a new walking place, but we love our standard one so much I feel loathe to not walk them there. Maybe we'll go to the new one on Sunday with DH instead :)

Getting new glasses does greive me. They are so ridiculously expensive!

At the same time, another part of me doesn't mind spending the money, as they do help me to be able to see, & they are something I will wear every day, so I'd rather spend a bit on some I like.
