hope everyone is ok/feeling better :)

still got laryngitis and contemplating not going in to work tomorrow as a girl at work has just finished chemo and is due for radio soon. Can't afford for her to get an infection of any sort.

Need to cancel my meetings for tomorrow now I think :(

Sue - it sounds awful. Hope you feel better soon.

NDG - I have one who sees me online and begs to do smilies too!
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Morning everyone....well that was not a comfortable night.

Feet and ankles feel ok today but my back and right shoulder overnight were awful and I cried out several times during the night while trying to move position, so I don't think I will be getting up on any step ladder (yes, I have learnt my lesson with the chair), anytime at all today.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

The weather here is, as they say, an 'improving picture.' We can see the other side of the valley now!

Even better, Mr Rotovator has done five passes with the flail, so the road hedge opposite has dropped about 2' and our full view has returned for the winter months. :D

    Mornin nice peeps :hello:

Looks a pretty nice day though it is cooling down now, we actually had a very thin layer of ice on a puddle on Friday morning  The good thing is it's getting close to the end of the grass cutting season :D

I got one of those annoying cards from the postman which states they can't deliver something to me because the postage is 34p short  so now i have to toddle over to royalmail online and pay them £1.34 to receive my item of mail. I hope it isn't junk mail :undecided

I've been eating too much cake over the last couple of days :A

I think i'll go n spend a hour on the treadmill and get some energy back :j

no not at all. It just so turned out it could be used that way.

There is no test: as NDG says, when a trainee the only correct answer is ''yessir''. (unlkess being asked to do something dodgy!)

Is that Pro bono the trainee or the employer i.e. is the trainee paid by his employer for the Pro bono work?

We're in Kent for the weekend, at my parents' house. It's a lovely, sunny day, and Isaac's gone with my Dad to the greenhouse to examine a spider's web, and the rest of us are having a second cup of tea and contemplating a gorgeous Sunday.

Oh to have a house where you have to traipse to the greenhouse to find a spider's web.;)

We seem to have the most massive spiders in this house. We (me and kids - all who are old enough to deal with creepies) have taken to covering spiders with upturned glasses for OH to deal with. He wasn't happy to come home and find that all glasses were either dirty or scattered around the house homing spiders!

The cancer story progresses, always good news and bad. I met the consultant for the first time, which was useful. Dad is responding better than expected to the chemo and with less side effects. So that is good news. In fact, staying there this week, we managed 2 mile walks each day - pretty good for a 71 year old in the midsts of chemo & cancer. Downside is that the cancer is inoperable (we knew that) which means that the chemo cycle lasts a few months then you get a break and wait for it to reappear, then start the chemo again. These breaks could be as little as 3 months :( (we didn't know that).

Sorry, might have missed a bit on where the cancer is but if it hasn't metastasised, it's common to have a bit of chemo to see if the tumours will reduce in size and then resect.

Oncologists would prefer to see if a patient will respond to treatment (if there are big and multiple tumours) before the trauma of surgery.

Otherwise, i'm sorry to hear about your dad and hope he enjoys what he has. And big hugs.
