So this morning I went shopping before the town/beach got too busy. I spent far too much money again :o I spent £39 in Primark on a few shape-sorting underwear items, a cute gingham top, a spare pair of cheapie sunglasses to keep in the car, some woolly tights that were reduced to £1 for the winter, a bronzing brush, some new linen trousers for work and a cute navy scarf.

I also spent £3.50 on the car park, £20 on an M&S giftcard for best mate as a thankyou for having ds, £6.50 on some food bits in M&S and £5 on having my eyebrows threaded. I've never had it done before but am very pleased with the results, much better definition and less pain than tweezing :T

Now I'm probably staying in for the afternoon as I burn so easily and don't want to go to the wedding tomorrow with red burnt shoulders / face etc

Will you and ds be able to see the Olympic Flame BenBen?
Its in our area today, but only year 6 children are able to see it:(
We are going on Saturday to see it in Liverpool, its a half hour train ride away, but I do think these things are surely more educational than an afternoon of P.E. lessons, and children should have been given the option of having the afternoon off if their parents could escort them.

He recently had to miss the Queen and Prince Philip visiting the next town, as it was a school day. So instead of seeing the flame on our doorstep for free, it will be an expensive day out on Saturday. But hey, it's a little bit of history. Hope your fairy cakes went down well:cheesy:

It came here last week and although I was apathetic to going and seeing it, I'm glad I did. It is certainly fostering community spirit around here and although it passes by in a matter of seconds, there is an electric atmosphere.

I thought I would be pretty sad if I couldn't be bothered to see a once-in-a-lifetime event that was passing by a mile or so away from my house. Glad I went, you should have a good time....:D

Sorry for abandoning you all again, I'm not doing so well recently am I with updating here :o:o Its been a busy week with one thing and another, but finally half-term is here :j

We are going to see the Olympic torch when it comes this way (July), its on a saturday which is good, although I have a wedding that day too so it may be a bit chaotic :o

Today we went to ds drama then he has gone to his dads for the weekend, the first overnight visit since August, so I am expecting a few wobblies when he returns :o

I have been to see Dad (and guess who happened to be working today ;) ), we had a nice chat again, we're definetly getting much chattier, at first it was just hi how are you, now we chat on for ages :D I still think he's far far too young but need to find out his age. There's a jubilee teaparty there on tuesday that we're going to and he is working that day too ;)

    So my plan for the rest of the weekend while ds is away is as follows;
today - chill out a bit, sort some finance stuff, do some housework and watch the footie
tomorrow - hire a rug doctor and get my carpets back to some sort of normal colour :)
Monday - have a lie-in, ds home at lunchtime

I did splash out £20 in M&S this morning on a couple of ready meals and their £10 dine in meal deal (huge chicken, potato wedges, apple pie and a bottle of wine :T). I also got some scones and clotted cream :o Lemonade is already chilling in the frisge ready for some Pimms later on :D

In fact, seeing as its the holidays and all that, I think its high time I wrote a new to do list :D
    • clean guinea pigs
    • strip and remake both beds
    • empty car of junk
    • hire rug doctor and use it lots!
    • clean fridge
    • gut my drawers
    • gut my wardrobe
    • update finances
    • sort a matched bet
    • clean the car inside and out
    • tidy airing cupboard
    • tidy hall cupboard
    • tidy all kitchen cupboards
    • sort I-Tunes
    • action all outstanding paperwork
    • figure out what to do with my ipad

I forgot to mention about the last one on there, all the ta's at school were given an ipad this week to help in lessons :D:D Very very excited ;)

Oops, hadn't quite finished the list ...
    • maintenance run for washing machine and dishwasher
    • read electricity meter
    • mend bike tyres
    • get some stuff on ebay
    • clean windows
    • clear inbox

I'm sure there must be tonnes more than that, obviously theres the usual housework to be done too, but that lot will keep me busy for a while for now :)

Hi there, hope you don't mind but have been reading your diary for a couple of days. I think it's great the way you just pick yourself up and get on with things no matter what is thrown at you. I'm not sure how to subscribe but I'm sure I will learn.

As usual your holiday list is amazing;) I have waaaay to many thngs to put on mine, so now I shall cut it down to one thing - move house:rotfl: That's enough!

How fab for your school's TAs to get iPads:beer: I bought my own with birthday money and vouchers from surveys - I do love it, though I know I don't use it as much as it deserves. My girls love it - it's full of funny photos of them using the effects;) Their school is going to be issuing them to the students...though of course at a cost to me. A freebie I'd have loved!

    Enjoy your M+S treats:)
