    http://www.ukpcappeals.com/legal

    Same listed here:

    http://www.debtrecoveryplus.co.uk/ccj/

Listing judgements or claimed Judgements, however means nothing, without showing what they were for. Strange they claim they alone issue 10 to 20 a month yet we haven't seen one poster here, on GAG, or Pepipoo, asking for advice!

I am sure if UKPC had won a defended case it would be published on their website, rather then relying on "Perky's Stephen Thomas" "ahem" case!

Did I understand correctly that if i am indeed taken to court there is a chance I will have to pay up? and by that moment I would have to cover all their expenses i.e costs payable is > ticket charge? I just feel if a reasonable independent person looked at this case they would understand.

Am I right in thinking that in a small claims court you would not be liable for the other sides costs ?

I've never seen a total PPC claim for less than £200. Figure like £115 or £135 don't add up (literally).

Law? What law? Do they actually think that a firm can issue a fake PCN, then send out a demand and a few scary letters and that you should just pay up because you are scared they may have some 'authority' (they don't)?! :rotfl:

Your brother and father would do well to read the top thread showing the bog-standard PPC letter-chains (get a preview of each one) and also watch the Watchdog youtube link with the solicitor and the paper aeroplane. He knows the legality of this piece of bog roll that found its way onto your windscreen:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163

Everyone needs to know the difference between real PCNs (penalty charges from Councils, which you should always appeal) and bogus 'PCNs' (parking charge notices from private companies which everyone should just ignore every time - but always complain to the retailer/car park management for allowing the scumbags on their land harassing their customers).

Hope you can convince Dad and bro so they never fall for this scam themselves. At least you know the score and won't be paying.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Many thanks people - I will stand firm - the sad thing is the only reason why my father is saying this is because he was frightened (quite old) - anyway separate incident few months ago he was harrassed into paying another ticket at another supermarket I think for not paying for a ticket/spending too much time in the parking space even though he was a valid customer who didnt need a ticket and moves quite slowly - so a 20 min shop for me would be like 2 hours for him. I was unfortunately unaware until he paid it and told me a few weeks later.

    I blame the silly supermarkets.

Take your Father to the same supermarket fill the biggest trolley with hundreds of small expensive items. A few dozen packets of smoked salmon, a couple of lobsters, go to the till and just as you are about to be served, say sorry we will have to go my father got a ticket last time he was too slow shopping!!:p

And don't forget to write to the head office of that supermarket and tell them why you will be shopping at one of their rivals in future.
