Nice one on the chinese food sampling. Sounds ace. Glad the loft hatch got sorted in one go.

Minimal amounts of the jumper were achieved whilst huddled round the car heater watching DD1 leap over poles in a very muddy field. Boob shaping was finally figured out and the coat has almost aquired enough material to be a boob tube although I'm a week behind the rest of the knitters which is impressive for a project that only started two weeks ago. Sold another fivers worth of tat on E-bay taking me to £35 in total this week.

Doom and gloom follows. Feel free to skip this bit. I need to ramble.

The geriatric old dear is senile. As in completely and utterly bonkers. She got me up three times during the night, wandered to the top of the stairs, looked at the staircase and headed back to bed. This morning the bedroom reeks of urine, mind you its smelt like that for a while, but instead of damp patches theres a minature lake. Coupled with this shes suddenly become rather wobbly on her rear legs and is sleeping far more than ever. Her body is finally giving up. At the moment shes not in any pain and I'm not intending to let her get to the point she is. Have been hoping for a while that she just won't wake up one morning. But shes obviously too stubborn for that. Will be spoiling her rotten for the next few days culminating in a one way trip to the vets on Wednesday. I know its the right thing to do but it feels really really !!!!!!. Not half as !!!!!! as telling the DDs that she fell asleep whilst they were at school and I had her collected by the nice people from the pet crematorium before they had a chance to say goodbye.

Oh Moo - I'm sorry to hear about your dog :(

What a wonderful owner you are to make this decision before life is too much for her to cope with :A

This decision is the one bad thing about pet ownership.

So sorry to hear that you have to make the tough decision ref the dog. Not sure but would be DD's cope with it better if they knew that she was going to the vets that day, 'and may not come back'?

We've been preparing the DDs for the possibility that she might not wake up one morning since she turned 15... then reminding them that the older she gets the more likely it is to happen but since then her 16th birthday came and went and her 17th and her 18th. To suggest that this might occur at the vets would upset DD1 far too much shes used to farm vets destroying animals in fields very matter of factly. But thats done because it needs to be done. She wouldn't see this the same way.

Hugs, know its really hard to make that decision, I had to have my beloved pony put to sleep on new years eve, aged 24, had him for 17 years, could have get him going a wee bit longer but it wouldnt have been fair. Am glad I made the right decision at the right time even though its heartbreaking. Your DD's will realise too in time.
