OH is out, the DDs are pretending to be abed and my tummy is full of enchiladas. The need to shop is now gaining a sense of urgency. We've runout of onions, bleach, stamps and in another week the washing up liquid will reach crisis point and yet the cupboards are still heaving.

Came home to find OH had been "helpful" and ironed everything on the laundry pile. Everything. Absolutely every sodding thing. Knickers, socks, towels and fleece !!!!ing pyjamas... the ones with the big do not iron because we melt warning label inside. It seems so rude to feel the need to scream when he clearly thinks hes being helpful but really what normal person irons fleece? I mean really!

Still it means I won't have to iron tomorrow :)

Off to sit in a corner with my jumper (all 11cm of it) to watch crap on the telly box until OH gets home. Tis pointless going to bed because the hound will impersonate a hyperactive toddler will leap all over me when his car pulls up. Thats before she goes to the front door to perform her blood curdling growl which is rapidly followed by the slobber of death. Theres no chance whatsoever of sleeping through that.

OH is off on his jollies which means three days of tranquility are in order for moo and the mini moos. Don't intend to do much in the way of housework simply because rather shockingly the house ain't too bad at all.

On the to do list are a whole heap of things I've been putting off for quite some time:
    • reboil the grapefruit maramalde to stop it slopping around the jars
    • rummage through the jar cupboard to figure out what lurks within
    • place order for more jam jar lids
    • use up the lids in the cupboard to make a batch of alcofrolic marmalade
    • knit
    • knit some more
    • watch girlie drivel on the telly box
    • spend quality time with the DDs
    • bake because I've promised DD1
    • squeeze in a trip to the flicks if the kiddie special is something they fancy
    • and package up a gazillion E-bay parcels.
Pretty sure that will occupy most of my time.

Jumper is coming on rapidly, although I'm going to run out of wool before I finish it. Am already at 26cm which is about the half way point on the chest section. Surprised just how fast its going.

Fun filled tasks today involve rounding up the kitten for his annual prod and poke at the vet and a quick trip to a cash point to cover tomorrows riding lessons. OH and the DDs shopped yesterday mostly sticking to the list but buying the posh version of everything. Still at least it was only a short list and its delayed me going for another few days.

Whoop whoop its payday... I'm rich (for all of about five minutes). Have started the monthly money shuffle to gain a fiver from the nice people at the Halifax and to make sure that the money for bill payments is in the right place. Hoping that another very very frugal tightfisted and downright miserly month will have major impact on the last chunk of debt. The not shopping at all for anything whatsoever *with the exception of knittery stuff because otherwise I'd go nuts!* is working wonders. OH and the DDs don't seem overly bothered about the lack of food shopping as they're still scoffing x-mas goodies and will be for quite some time.

Had a quick rummage through the first of the jam jar dumping zones and unearthed 45 jars. Will see how many approved by the laydees of the Country market lids I can find before deciding what to make and crucially what lids to order or even whether its worth a pootle out to the back of beyond to collect them.

Mostly though I'm planning to enjoy the peace and tranquility.

Have reboiled the runny marmalade. Rummaged through the cupboard but don't think I can locate enough lids to do another batch this weekend. Much washing up has been done and the last of the scrummy x-mas cheese munched. Sold another item on Amazon so will need to visit a purveyor of stamps on the way to work as OH ignored that part of the shopping list.

Cat has been prodded and poked and £35 reluctantly handed over at the vets. Also made enquiries about saying good bye to the old dear who is suddenly aging very rapidly. Hoping she forgets to wake up one morning but somehow I doubt it.

The marmalade is no longer runny. Its not exactly marmalade like either. In fact its suspiciously like thick treacle. It tastes v. nice though. Will need to seek out an alternative grapefruit marmalade recipe though because this is the second time this one has ended disasterously. Still at least its edible unlike the last batch which set so hard that you couldn't get a knife in the jar and then when you finally did it clung on for dear life and refused to spread on toast.

Decided against lighting the fire last night. Really regretting that this morning now its a balmy minus five outdoors and a slightly warmer nine degrees in. Lit it when we got up but DD2 feels the need to watch the telly box wrapped in her duvet with a bobble hat and a pair of mittens.

Waiting to hear is riding lessons are on because the ground is frozen solid.

Progressing nicely with my laid back to do list. Watched a cheesy film last night whilst mindlessly knitting round in circles. Means I've finished the pocket and another 3cm of body.

Too cold to go far afield today unless we really have to. Quite looking forward to a day at home pootling round and playing with the monkeys. A brief bedroom tidy may well be in order though because both the DDs rooms are major disaster zones.

Nothing like the social commentary of the young, is there! Tell her to run around a bit...soon warm up.

Fingers and toes crossed it isn't on, so you can stay indoors - all snuggly and warm once the fire does its thing.

You are very achievementy - I'm most impressed!

    Have a snuggly day.

forget about the bedrooms Moo...send the girls later to tidy them up. Enjoy the bit of time you have today to chill out and do as little as humanly possible. :):)

Freezing here too and I intend to do only what is really necessary.
