Money goes nowhere nowadays moo (sound like I am 90:)!!)

I know how you feel about the kitchen mine is in a similar state and I am scundered as they say around here!!! Sickened to all those who don't know what I am talking about.

    Isn't the weather miserable

Ah well at least we are all alive and well
    take care Moo

Doom and gloom .... doom and gloom....... think positive thoughts ebayqueen. Tis perfect weather fopr leaping in piles of leaves (the squishing of hibernating hedgehogs is unintentional) and generally behaving like a naughty toddler by taking advantage of the children being in school to play on the swings in the park without one of them asking if its their turn yet.

Managed to get on top of the kitchen yeterday... well the obvious bits at least. OH nuked leftovers for dinner so this mornings washing up pile is considerably smaller than normal. Hoping an hours blast in there will see the worktops cleared, cupboard fronts wiped down and a spot of decluttering achieved. If I can turf out some of the contents of the junk drawer so that it shuts on the first attempt I'll be a happy munchkin.

Trying not to get too excited about this afternoons splurge at Hobbycraft. I'm going to be good. Really. I'm going to browse the book section and note down any titles of interest for later aquisition through Amazon... or even from Santa and I'm going to buy sock yarn.... and only sock yarn and perhaps a stocking filler each for the DDs but only if I see something awesome. I'll be on my best behaviour. Really I will.

Had another go at my sock yesterday. Didn't make any of the screw ups of the previous day and no after a mere three hours (yup its that fiddly especially when you're trying to keep count of stitches adn OH insists on holding a conversation - how rude) I have a fully shaped toe, all 45mm of it... and I'm hooked. The yarn is lovely to use. I'm already wondering if I have the patience to knit a shawl in it... yes yes shawls are for bedridden octogenarians... I know all that.... but still...... I think I might being going slightly mad, its finally happened, I'm slightly mad.....

    Reeeeeeeeeaaaaaally?;)

Thought I would mention that my local Hobbycraft (Stafford) is having a 25% of everything afternoon later today.

Nothing on the main website, so don't think it's national - but it might be worth you ringing your local store and seeing whether they have something similar planned in the near future. That way you could skip around making lists today - and get money off if they have a similar event.

Great minds think alike. Mine e-mailed me a voucher :D Am now having v. frugal second thoughts. My inner cow is being a heifer. It keeps pointing out that the cost of getting to Hobbycraft (£4) outweighs the discount involved unless I spend in excess of £16. Pah. Its also going to take me almost an hour to get there and back which means if I hit any traffic I'll be very late for school on a day when theres only me in. I hate being grown up and sensible.

Unleashed my naughty clicky finger in a vaguely controlled manner. Having realised that the relics arrive next eekend for the last time before christmas this means all gifts destined for venues other than here need to depart with them.

Obviously I've thought about making Christmas cakes but didn't do enough and I hadn't actually bought anything at all..... several clicks later thats nicely resolved. The Book People have a Quidco exclusive 10% discount plus 3% cashback so all the kids are getting books. Simples. Having to spend £35 was quite difficult, even though it covers gifts for eight. Still I managed it, just, by lobbing a heavily discounted copy of The Knitting Book into the basket..... imagine my ecstasy (no really) when I discovered it comes with a free copy of Knit Your Own Royal Wedding. My life is now complete. £35.05 later I just have half a dozen cakes to bake and I'm done. I'd like to claim its because I'm effieint and organised but that would be a big fat lie.

    Total spends for November £307.50.

Off to pretend to do some housework.

Its finally Friday. Its been an incredibly long week and I'm shattered. Hoping one more quick blast at the house today means I can have a weekend without doing any which means more time with the demonic daughters or at least thats the plan.

Spent a further £8 yesterday on Martial Arts classes taking me to £315.50.

OH started work at 3am so should be home mid-morning. Am anticipating a day of over tired grumpiness. He did go to bed very early and I made the most of it by dispatching the oiks to bed a tad earlier than usual and staying up lat to watch mindless drivel on the telly box. End result my sockie is now a whopping 100mm long. Suppose at some point I should figure out how much I need to knit before starting the heel. Its all well and good the pattern saying this should be 2" smaller than the length of my foot but its looking rather doubtful it will fit my foot. Having compared it to the socks on the laundry tower it appears to be somewhere between sizes 3-6. Must Google to see what that is in understandable measurements. Not a hope in hell of it fitting on my feet *sob*. Theres even less chance of it making its way to DD1s sock drawers as the child has managed to loose a dozen pairs of sschool socks despite arriving home in the same ones she left in. Have threatened to decimate her room by bin bag over the weekend.

Further plans for the day involve repeatedly checking OnePoll in the hopes of finding lots of paid surveys. I seem to be stagnating at £36 which is most infuriating.

    Hiya Moo

What a gorgeous day we are having today...absolutely stunning. I love Autumn. The robins are singing and the sky is blue.

You are a good one to even try and knit socks. I might tackle knitting someday but I simply do not have the patience. My mam and gran used to knit to make money when I was a kid and you would think some interest might have been ignited in me but no!! Have an inkling to crochet ... I think it would be very relaxing.

I am sure you enjoyed your bit of peace in front of the box last night. Great to get a few hours to yourself.

    Enjoy your weekend Moo
    take care

If only I could agree with you about the gorgeous day. Mine has been wet and dreary and will go down in history as the crappiest of all crap filled days. I mean that literally. One dollop of cat shoite on a rug at home. Three blocked toilets. One blocked urinal. One blocked sink and seven pukers. Seven. Nuff said.... and then the illegal immigrant left a message to say she won't be in next week either. Pah.

Am home considerably later than anticipated when I dragged myself out of bed this morning. Did detour home via the cash point through what is undoubtebly the darkest village in Wales. Some oik has nicked the mains supply cable. Needless to say I didn't get any cash nor did I splurge on une boutielle de vin rouge to erradicate all trace of the day.

Have already had one shower but can still smell puke. Bleugh. I feel a very long hot soak in a bath in the very near future. Heres hoping that makes me feel vaguely more human.

In vastly more uplifting news I recieved a most unexpected thank you from the company that arranged the holiday photo shoot :j Tis alway fab to get something unexpected through the post.

Looks like you have had a cr*p day Moo :):):) Couldn't resist that Moo.

Sorry you didn't get your vino rouge. I intend to indulge in a bottle after taxi run at 10 tonight. If I don't fall asleep before it.

Enjoy the soak in the bath and yea to getting post that makes you smile. :)

    Take care

i feel your cleaner is taking the p. as others have said the boss needs to do a risk assessment and send onto maternity leave. that way you can at least advertise for maternity cover. puke is one of the reasons i couldn't do your job, just a wiff sets me off in sympathy
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
