Hell is a day spent on the M62 in gusty gales at 40mph.

Funeral is over and done with. I am knackered. Friday can't come soon enough.

Sleep deprived and very grumpy. Finally gave in and taped the letter box of the house next door shut at 3am. Crivens knows how they managed to sleep through it if I couldn't.

Ridiculous amounts of wind last night, intermittent electrickery as the trees kept hitting the overhead power lines. Suspect there will be much debris to slalom round this morning.

Plans for today are minimal. If I stay awake until bedtime that will be an achievement.

Finding myself randomly browsing quilting websites and on-line purveyors of fabric. Mostly because I'm sleep deprived and my itchy clicky finger goes on the rampage when I feel like shoite. Wouldn't have a clue what to do with them if they did land on my doorstep.

Endured death by parents evening at DD1s school last night. Shocked to find that shes managed to go from barely scraping a level 3 to a solid level 5 in six months, theres a fair chance that she'll manage to get Grade C GCSEs eventually. Most chuffed.

Didn't see much of my offspring yesterday. DD2 spent the vast majority of the day sitting on a windowsill in the sun working on a latch-hook rug of a horse whilst DD2 spent five and a half hours making a pencil case on the sewing machine. Shes's most chuffed. It's fully lined with a flap and has her firmly hooked on sewing. Since then shes made rugs and numnahs for her toy horses, a purse for her sister and then randomly sewed together all the left over bits just because she could. Have promised to help her make a drawstring bag today. She's rapidly working her way through my fabric stash. Apparently once shes made a bag she'd like to have a go at patchwork quilting.

I spent the majority of yesterday doing pottering about type things so as to be within yelling distance should the machine decide to eat something, turns out I wasn't needed but I did get rather a lot of tidying up done :)

Thinking frugal thoughts this week as next weekends jaunt to Wonderwool is shaping up to be a rather expensive outing.

The boss has interviewed a replacement for the replacement cleaner who starts once the current replacement cleaner leaves doing less than half the hours that I need them to do. Have decided enoughs enough and after a long chat witht he OH we've agreed I'm going to hand in my notice and leave at the end of the summer term. I suspect a spot of job hunting is in my not too distant future. Either that or a return to education. I quite fancy a vocational course of somesort although I doubt the OH would see a year at weaving school as being a step towards a career change. He did suggest I consider teaching...hmmmm.... perhaps not..... That gives me three months to stockpile funds in the bank to cover any and all eventualities. Feeling surprisingly happy about this :)

A 201K treadle is high on my wishlist. Just have to figure out where to put it.
