DD1 had a great day. She was rewarded for being a gobby wee shoite with the Pony Club Public Speaking Award and spent almost three hours riding. Got there to find her jumping in the arena which is something she was petrified of doing.

Well done DD1! I ought to have had that award years ago, I wonder how I got missed...

...and another well done for jumping when you're scared. I'm afraid of jumping and get someone else to jump my horse for me!

Am rather decadently scoffing one of Lidls imitation cornettoes, v. nice it is too. Plan to work off the calories by excavating more garden in preparation for the temporary patio before getting side tracked by David Walliams Gangsta Granny which is a most splendiferous read.

Ooh! I might do my dishes more often if I got to look at that kind of view!

So today I bit the bullet and asked my boss for a reduction in hours to a term time only contract with the option of working during the school holidays on overtime as it suits rather than having to work full time. He agreed which means as of July my salary will take a nose dive into the realms of the non-tax payer. I'm guessing its going to mean a 20% cut in pay but muchly reduced childcare bills because I'll only book the DDs into the things they want to do and then work round that rather than booking them into stuff to allow me to work. Financially it will make very little difference but I'll get to a lot more time with the DDs, even if it is playing chauffeur.

Woke up feeling v. relieved and even bouncier than normal. Not having to work the entire summer holiday or any other holiday after that opens up a world of possibilities which wouldn't have been remotely possible had debt freedom been a distinct possibility. At the mo £700 of our income is lobbed in the direction of the debt each month which means post debt freedom I could comfortably afford to take that as a salary drop. As it is I'm hoping the drop will be more like £200 which is pretty much what I'll be spending on chilcare for the Easter Hols. It means OHs camper van crisis is vaguely more feasible butonly vaguely. Hoping he'll have far too much fun holed up in his new shed with his gadgetry to mention that again.

Had a quote for the bespoke shed of wonders which is remarkably similar to one on the suppliers website but £500 cheaper. Quite how or why is a bit of a mystery but the difference goes a long way to covering his lathe.

Need to spend another couple of hours removing turf today before levelling and excavating in readiness for clearing the front garden of hardcore. Hopefully this will finally eradicate all traces of builders debris and allow me to do something with the tiny bit of space at the front of the house even if it is only to move the trailer 10 feet so that OH can park a delapidated banger where the trailer currently resides. Bet the neighbours love us!

Hoping it stays sunny as I have an afternoon of road safety lessons to look forward to.

Am v. close to finishing the heinous coat. V. close but yet soooo far. Still the end is finally in sight. Tempted to whip up a pair of socks after that just to do something that progresses quickly although I have promised DD2 a jumper but its a little warn for that sort of thing at the mo.

Need to run round like a loon emptying bins and poopascooping the garden before the bin men materialise. Pretty sure theres tons of stuff that needs to go I just can't find it.... although I'll trip up over it minutes after the bin lorry departs.
