Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I had a rather abrupt wake up call this morning as hubby yelled 'Is there tea?' in my ear, he was very apologetic when he realised I was in bed beside him, he thinks he must have dreamt my saying I'll go & make tea & then taken a long time to do so. I then had trouble making the tea as I couldn't stop giggling.
It's rained here overnight, but the beans are still dry so I'll water them this morning, I was given a bag of broad beans & some gooseberrys so I need to prep the beans & make some gooseberry crumble. I may also have one of the grandchildren for a couple of hours, if so I'll make biscuits with him or her.
DS has been released from hospital, they didn't have to deflate his lung so he is improving in leaps & bounds, oh the resiliance of youth!
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all who follow.
It's chucking it down here. B*ggerSo needed it dry for DD's party today. Anyway today will be spent doing final prep for party, having party and then clearing up the aftermath. Been extremely stressed last few days, having mild anxiety attack yesterday, feel slightly better today. Going to spend rest of weekend looking after me and trying to de-stress. Tried talking to H about things but he just turns all Mr Practical on me when what I want to do is have a cuddle and a cry
Anyway just a few bits and bobs to get on with this morning before guests arrive.
No idea what's for tea, had mini fish and chips last night from chippie for not MSE but not in the mood to start cooking.
Bargainbird - B*gger off BD <shoo> nice to see you posting, hope you're in a better place.
Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good Saturday OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning Hester and all who folllow
Check me out, on my new laptop posting from bed:rotfl:
Wet, windy and miserable here todaysuch a change from beginning of week. But I am kinda glad cos I need to start sorting and packing so can do that and not be tempted by the sunshine!
I had a nice evening at my neighbours last night. My new flatmate had an op on her hand on Thurs and she is still a bit spaced out and in pain, and her current flatmate is also unwell so I did play nursemaid occasionally :rotfl: we were going to get a takeaway but in the end I offered to drive us to Asda to get stuff from the takeawy counter. we timed it just right before they were shutting so got lots of YS stuff and only spent £4 each. Had a nice meal and then watched a film. My new flatmate is all packed (she moves next Sat) which has given me a kick up the butt! She said I can have all her boxes etc once she has unpacked but I want to make a start now.
I'm not going shopping with the girls as both are working overtime today. So plans for day include sorting, packing, labelling and ebaying! Also want to attempt to transfer stuff over from old to new laptop.
OS wise - WM should go on but may wait til tomorrow, DW will go on and need to put BM on too. Just did quick tidy of kitchen too.
Have a good day all

Good morning,
wet overnight up in the North but looking like it will brighten up so may chance a load of washing.
My DD is 10 today so will be taking her and two friends to Harry Potter this afternoon as part of her BD present. She is a lovely girl (i'm baised, I know), but she had no idea what she wanted for a gift and just said 'I don't mind, I'll be happy with anything'. She has a great outlook on life, nothing gets her down for long and I hope she will remain that way into adulthood. She will weather life's storms well if so!
Otherwise we will have grannies & grandas over later for tea & birthday cake.
Have a good day everyone0 -
Morning all
BITSY fingers crossed for decent weather. Try and enjoy it!
Just a quick post from me before I go to bed. So relieved I'm now on 18 days leave :j. Only plan I have is to go to Legoland. No hols booked as we're skint and I refuse to put it on a creditcard. Will get on with stuff around the house and sleep. Hopefully the weather will be ok so we can get down the beach a lot.
It's grey and drizzling here this morning. Popping to the gym later when I get up. Am childfree until tomorrow :T. Have a friend coming over later and we're going to grab a takeaway from Asda, more MSE than going out to eat. Cats are having a mad moment this morning, what is that all about???
GOOBERGIRL HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR LOVELY GIRL
Have a good day all and big hugs to anyone who needs one.

Good morning HH, Flutterby and all who cross or follow.
TGISaturday, got lots to do - correspondence, housework, cooking, schoolwork, garden ...
Will that burn enough calories to make me a shadow of my former self? No!
Dinner today is Chilli Con Carne with rice or baked potato. Will have salad from the garden with it - peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, shallots & salad leaves. I love this time of year for all the fresh produce:) Pud will be raspberries and loganberries which I will pick later.
Need to do a load of washing but the sky is cloudy and forecast is not good:(
Happy Saturday all. Hugs to all those who want or need - especially those hounded by the black dog x
Cheers m'dears, Silver x
PS Hope the weather holds for your DD's party Bitsy
Ggirl Happy birthday to DD, hope you enjoy the filmOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Good Morning All
Good Luck for today Bitsy
Goobergirl - enjoy Harry Potter
Weather is horrible here and the forcast for the next few days is the samedon't mind today too much as have a days work campaigning in a shopping centre, was there yesterday too which mean I missed the lovely weather. Shouldn't moan though as OH was at home and cleared the washing basket :j
OH is also at home today and will be cooking Shepherds Pie for dinner. I will be on my feet all day so will be ready for it when I get home then probably an early night.
Think will have a look and see if we can get to see Harry Potter tomorrow - think will be busy though. Also our local very cheap cinema has Bridesmaids now so will find time to go with OH this week.
So no OS for me today  will be mainly trying to avoid looking in the shops whilst at the shopping centre. Did sucumb to a couple of bargains yesterday, so many sales on.
Better get going, have a great day all.x0 -

Mornign folks, havent posted on here for a while, but hopefully will get a chance to know you all again! ITs been pouring rain here all night, and doesnt look very promising. Need to wash the sheets but will hold off until tomorrow as things look slightly better.
HAve quite a busy day ahead of me today, kitchen needs tidied, so that will be first on the list. Have ten pounds of raspberries and six pound of strawberries tyo make into jam so in a way I am quite glad its raining - I love in the kitchen when its raining so homely!LOL! This afternoon will see a while in the greenhouse planting some more salad stuff, more green beans and beetroot, along with winter greens - kale, cabbage etc to be planted out into the allotment at the end of August. As long as I get them planted this weekend they should be ok. Menu planning will fit in sometime today as I have found that this takes away any hassle during the week, and one less thing to think about!
Dont have any need to go shopping today so will try and make it a no spender, other than this evening we have been invited out for a meal, but we never go out often so will not count this.
Happy birthday to all those celebrating, good luck to all those needing it, and best wishes to everyone else!Every days a School day!0 -
