Writing the the shops won't achieve anything. They have absolutely no control or say over the car-park.
Extreme example, if every one boycotted the shops then all you will be doing is helping people lose the jobs as the shops wouldn't stay open if not profitable to stay open.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
My wife and I can identify with all the above comments and frustrations. We did pay the £50.00 but would not have done if we had found this forum first.
We have been shopping at Mostyn Champneys since they opened, but I doubt if we will go there again.
If by any chance the retail park manager is reading this forum,Thank you for giving us a good day out yesterday, Thursday we went to Chester.
Mr & Mrs very annoyed0 -

I'd tend to disagree with that. The retailers may not have direct control over the car park but they are presumably paying extortionate amounts of rent so they should have some sway over the landlords.
I also think it's only fair to let them know as they may not be aware of the strength of feeling or the numbers of customers they are losing. With the state of the economy as it is they are probably losing custom anyway so if there's something they can do to stop some of that then let them know. The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water
And I look like a tramp and tramps like us

Yes they are paying extortionate amounts of rent, llandudno has one of the highest rates out of North wales, maybe even whole of Wales. All down to Lord Mostyn and Mostyn Esates, they own most of Llandudno.
They are more than aware of the lost custom due to there greed, but it appears it doesn't bother them.
Take the like's of Iceland, they chose not to extend there lease because the rent was to high, even word that Aldi may close there llandudno shop due to the rent increase, also talk of Comet.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -
My sister received her letter - penalising her for exceding the average time of three hours they say is adequate to do one's shopping. How dare they assume and then dictate how much time people spend shopping. Could someone advise me please - I'm thinking of contacting the region's chamber of commerce, would they be interested in hearing about the situation at Mostyn Champneys Retail Park?0

Mostyn Champneys and Parc Llandudno are two of the bits Mostyn Estates don't operate although as they push up rents elsewhere in the town it probably supports the owners of the retail parks in pushing up their rents as well. I suspect Mostyn Estates are starting to realise the error of their ways as more and more shops are becoming vacant in the town.
The Aldi shop has been up for let for quite a while now. I don't know if this actually means they intend to pull out of Llandudno or if this is just a ruse to help negotiate their rent down a bit.

The thing to remember is that Parking Eye can not "penalise" anyone for anything. They have no statutory authority to issue fines or penalties, their business model does however rely on misleading people into believing otherwise in order to con money out of them. The law allows the landowner (i.e. the owner of Mostyn Champneys and not Parking Eye) to recover any losses they suffer as a result of you sister overstaying. As the car park is free that means they are legally entitled to reclaim sweet FA.
Write to as many people as you can think of about this with the exception of Parking Eye. If you contact them they'll assume you've fallen for their scam which is the last thing you want them to believe. The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

I wrote an email to Mr Gilligan last night - I await a response.
I came across an article in The North Wales Weekly News 'No parking charges for store customers at Llandudno retail park' Aug 25 2011 which Mr Gilligan said "...customers of the stores who have valid receipts for purchases had nothing to fear".0 -
I have been given a mobile tel. no. for Mr Gilligan - not sure I'm allowed to make it public though!0
