The point is there is no need to pay for a phone call, or waste your life going into a branch for a simple current interest rate they should have easily visible on the site.0

I asked about this through a secure message, it took three days to reply that the interest rate for Esaver issue 3 is now 2.75%.Time to ditch n switch!0
-
Nope, I've had 2 secure messages both confirming the rate for esaver3 is still 3%. The current esaver4 is 2.75%.
My first complaint got the reply 3% and rates can be found in the closed accounts pdf.
My second complaint was the pdf does not have the esaver3 mentioned in it (which I had naturally looked at in the first place). This got an apology that things were being updated and a cast iron confirmation of 3%.
So who at Santander do we believe with nothing in black and white on the website?0 -
any news on this yet?0

Hi
As the OP I finally got around to asking Santander via secure message re the Esaver v3 and they also confirmed to me that the rate continues to be at 3%, which is good enough for me. Shame that this is still not available on the website.

So you don't forget exactly which account you do have it is possible to amend the account name when online. Select add, remove or rename account which is located on the opening page once logged in.
To remind myself if I ever have any queries mine reads E-Saver Issue3 3.00% AER.
Excellent idea. I've just changed mine but also included the date I opened the account to remind me when the bonus ends.0 -

With Santander, you can't really trust one source. The website should be correct 99% of the time, but the people who reply to those messages, and the people in branches often only know half of what they should.
For example, when I was opening my eSaver 3, I got no email confirmation and the account hadn't appeared online after 7 working days, so I tried again. The next day my online banking got disabled, and 2 weeks later I received a new log on in the post, and found that I had two eSaver 3s!
As the T&Cs say you can only have one eSaver, I decided I should close one of them, but despite it being an online only account, you can't close it online. I went into a branch and they said I needed to close it on the phone. So I called up, but they couldn't close it unless I read out the account number on the phone to them, which the "adviser" neglected to say. Instead of queueing up again I tried the former A&L branch a few minutes away, and the person at the front desk was able to close it on his computer.
The only way to really be sure of the rate is to wait until your next month's interest gets paid.Excellent idea. I've just changed mine but also included the date I opened the account to remind me when the bonus ends.
They should send you a letter a few weeks before the bonus expires, but who knows.0 -
Now I can't find the closed accounts .pdf
Have they moved it or taken it off the site completely?

I can't find it under savings either. I assume they are updating it to include esaver3 ????
But should it not be illegal to offer savings products and then have no way of finding the interest rates on your website? (I'm not interested in wasting a phone call or visiting a branch every time I want to check on the current interest rate!)0 -

Doesn't surprise me to be honest.
My top tip is if you want better service from Santander, abandon your former Abbey branch and seek out a B&B or A&L, if the internal customer service scores I saw in December 2010 are anything to go by0
