Yes - Pancackes are cheaper than an omelette because you're essentially stretching the expensive eggs with flour and milk!0 -

I am a vegan (allergic to cheese and dairy and tomatoes) so am wondering what to use as substitutes. soya mince with some other veg might work!
Though for me potatoes and onions would be delicious, maybe using soya mince with some chilli powder!!!!! Even Hubby might eat it!
will try it on Saturday and post back results for any other vegans in same boat as me!
Happy New Year.
Debt free except for Mortgage which is Husbands responsibility though my name is on it too!!
I'm vegan too, instead of mince I used a tub of my batch lentil and onion in gravy, and instead of cheese- a sprinkling of fake dried parmesan mixed with a bit of soya milk drizzled on onion layeres (not keen on vegan cheese blocks).0 -

'yum yum pigs bum!' What kind of talk is that? I think there should be a bit more decorum in the forum. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Just found this recipe idea and I will be trying it for sure. I used to make something similar without the tomatoes called Pan Haggerty but I do like the idea of adding tomatoes thanks for that. I will have to scroll through the other comments to check out other recipes as my food bill has gone way out of control. I have decided that during the next 3 months that I will pull the reigns in so thanks for the recipe ideas everyone.Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes0

I've made this today for our dinner, using some slightly out-of -date smoked ham layered with the potaoes, onions ,tomatoes and garlic. Didn't go mad with the cheese on the top and I can report that it was absolutely delicious.
We had seconds (family of 6 )as well and 1 small portion is left to munch tomorrow.
A very economical and tasty meal. Thanks so much. :j0 -
Hi, I seriously need some help with cooking meals for myself and 10 year old DD.
Up until a month ago I worked full-time and DD always went to childminders and she would have her tea there, I'm ashamed to say that for the last 9 years I've only cooked for us on the weekends :embarasse I'm rapidly running out of ideas for meals.
I'm not the most organised person and don't have a lot of spare money either. Can anyone recommend some good healthy meals for me to cook as I've seriously run out of ideas.
I've done the usual curries, spag bols, pasta etc......i'm afraid thats as far as my knowledge extends
I'm such a bad mother :embarasseMy home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to sayIgnore......check!0 -

First of all I'd like to say
This is my first post here and so I hope it's in the right place. (There's so much here that it's a little confusing and overwhelming at first.)
I don't know where to start. I want to eat more healthily make meal plans and shopping lists for the week for my family and I. My son is fine since he is still young enough to be on milk only, but as for me and my partner, we both need to loose weight and save money! The problem is I have no idea where to start! I'm useless at making lists and figuring things out and as for money saving I haven't the foggiest so I know we are wasing money on needless foods! As it stands right now we eat mostly frozen ready meals, but I really don't want to stay in that habit, however easy it is, because it's not really healthy and I don't want my son to grow up eating crap. Any time we do buy fresh veg it ends up sitting in the fridge for ages, lonely and forgotten until we have to throw it out because it's gone off. (It's the terrible truth.)
I don't really know what my questions are for this, but I think I really need advice on how to save money when food shopping and what kinds of things to buy and make for meals etc. I'm so useless at it!:heartpulsスイートピーお母さん。:heartpuls0
