Lazy postmen/woman

Glad it isn't just me, it is so annoying and really just is lazy. The people who run our post office are in their 80's so not sure what they would do?
I won't start on the time they weighed a parcel I had weighed at 1.6kg on old scales situated on the FLOOR told me the parcel was 2.3kg bit of a difference, it was a BFPO parcel so I made sure it was under 2kg so I took it back and took it to the big post office in town where it weighed 1.6kg I did complain as I was annoyed that many more could have been over charged.0 -
12 posts and none from Custardy explaining why post people do not close the gate:j0

I would like my postman NOT to leave my parcels on the front doorstep. Why do that? I could have been away on holiday and anyone could have taken them.
Luckily my next door neighbour took them in for me after her little granddaugters noticed them.
Leave them with a neighbour or take them back, it's not rocket science!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
When I briefly skimmed through the title of your forum, I assumed that the topic was about postpeople who dont deliver your daily post until 2.30...sometimes 3.00pm, is this because they have a good lie in nowadays, what happened to the post being delivered before 9 am...the good old days lol...0

Attach a pulley and string system to the gate, then when the postman is walking back towards the gate, pull the string and slam the gate before he walks through it.
If they ever mention it, tell them that someone keeps leaving the gate open, so you were trying teach the gate to close itself, but it keeps getting the timing wrong.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Rather than walk up/down each houses path/driveway our local postman just walks across the gardens up by the house, quite happily walking on flower beds etc as he goes. Even putting up a 2 1/2 ft fence hasn't stopped him as he goes over it!0

There is a big sign on our gate that says 'Please shut the gate' yet every time the postman has been they leave the gate open, how hard is it to pull a gate closed behind you?
Luckily we don't have dogs or kids that could get out if it isn't spotted  I am the only one who will shut someones gate even if I haven't seen a sign.
I feel like leaving a sarky note on the door reminding them again.
leave it on the gate post. When the gate's open they can't see the note.0 -
I have 2 gates, both have spring loaded gate closers and errrrr close themselves. Its the future.0

That wouldn't work on our gate as it's a 10' long metal farm gate. But I agree, those springs are good for smaller gates and solves the problem of gates being left open.0
