Ah. Mobiles.co.uk - the Marmite of the cashback dealers!
If you want to do cashback deals, then you must read up on others' experiences. You must diary the claim dates, check the correct bills to send and keep all of the relevant paperwork, including the t&c in force at the time you placed the order. Lots of previous tips on this forum.
It seems that there are problems with most of the dealers - or at least some people have had problems, but as Lynsey says, lack of complaints on here as compared with 2 years ago would suggest that they are better than they were then.
On balance, you have less risk of total loss with CPW and Phones4U companies, given their financial stability.
A couple of contributors to this thread are very successful with their cashback deals and swear by them. They are very diligent and experienced and they only got there by starting somewhere, so go for it.
Lastly, mobiles.co.uk do not have a good record of Customer Services - poor at answering phone or responding to emails, but having said that, on the 2 deals I did with them, I didn't need to use their CS.0

A reasonable and balanced assessment. The only caveat I would add is that (in my case) I researched for about a year rather than "going for it" when I started. That put me in an extremely good position (together with tons pf experience since) rather than learning the hard way after the event - as many have done over the last few years (even with dealers which appeared to be delivering what they promised at the time of taking out a contract only to leave people high and dry in various ways later).0

I think that with the various posts on here and the advice that anyone could pick up there is probably more than was available to you when you first started, so maybe, after some research, new cashbackers need less of an apprenticeship.
It is a shame that your "Cashback for Dummies" thread has grown so long and an up to date summary of the current position should be posted as a sticky for reference. (Listening Mods??)0

They didn't previously; should have been a sticky given the hundreds of people who have (since it was written) found themselves in the mire on cashback deals.
Actually there was MORE feedback on cashback deals and dealers when I first looked at it. Many more dealers and a constant and varied choice of deals. It is true that the t&c were more arduous, but the attitude of the dealers is the main factor; and that can and does change. CPW is a classic example of that; E2Save were then superb (I took my first contract/cashback deal with them) but a couple of years later they reorganised, absorbed OneStopPhoneShop (the person in charge of that taking charge of E2Save) and immediately decided to totally disregard their customers and apply dishonest tactics in just about every aspect of cashback. From one extreme to another, with lots of unjustified claim refusals, endless complaints and requests for help on here and numerous law suits. That went one for a year or so, by which time Mobiles.co was assuming their mantle. Now E2Save has returned to a personna of honest dealings and prompt and proper payments - though someone had a claim denied by them recently even though it was received on day 60. THAT got paid in the end - but only because they fought.
When Mobiles.co came to real prominence in the cashback game they were both disorganised and dishonest. They have turned that around to some extent - but if you are doing any deal which is only attractive provided the cashback is paid you should (unless you don't mind the risk of being denied) ensure they simply CANNOT deny a claim. The only way to be virtually foolproof is still to cover every aspect from the point of order and never simply assume that all you need do is follow the t&c and they will pay. The fact they usually do is no consolation should you be the victim they decide to deny.
I did update/summarise the state of play earlier this year on my little guide; have considered another update but unless things change a lot I don't think there's a huge need to update it that regularly. The groundrules on page 1 and the LBA later in the thread all still apply.0

I have had no problem with them. Got a new phone with them about a month ago, went through Quidco and have been paid out the £50 cashback already. Got a really good deal, no one else could come close. Have rung customer services a couple of times and always found them to be really helpful.0

Similar situation to me but ordered on Wednesday afternoon there and been told to expect on Monday but possibly Tuesday!0

having (a little apprehensively )taken out a contract, for the first time, earlier this year, with this part of the CPW group, i'm very glad to post up positive feedback.
firstly, had £50.50 cashback, via tcb, paid promptly, with no problems.
secondly, first cashback claim has been processed very quickly, indeed. emailed claim/bill over weekend, which was acknowledged immediately. today, mon, bill was confirmed as ok, claim booked in and then claim processed and payment authorised, all before midday.
that has to have been the quickest and most informative claim i've ever had processed.
not quite completed yet. though, hopefully, the cheque will arrive just as quickly!0
