I'm interested in bone marrow too Cinny, I think it's meant to be painful but rare that you get 'called up' - I'll ask about it next time I give blood.
It doesn't hurt NIM - they can give you an anaesthetic jab before they put the big one in and then you can't feel it. But yeah I don't know how needle phobias work, I guess you couldn't just look away?
Don't say that about my blessing as if I'm being a taskmistress! Just making a few suggestions.
Scaling fish and plucking chickens? *Shudder*
Right I'm off out, there's a vintage fair on and I'm after a floor lamp, a hat stand, and phrenology head and some old bedsheets
ETA - Haha Flower - hope that last sentence above redressed the balance a bit! Hope all goes well at the docs. Don't be a martyr to the breastfeeding (*non-mother giving out baby advice alert*) - people make such a big deal about it and I think it's awful as it makes those who can't do it feel bad (and don't get me started on the bond you get with a natural birth vs c-section!). You being a happy mum is much more important to your baby than where its milk comes from xxWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -

This is exactly what OH was saying last night. I guess he is right I would rather be happy and enjoy having my new baby around and him being bottle fed than being completely misserable.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
That C section stuff is a total myth, D and I are both C section babies, I've had a horrific retlationship with my mother until very recently while I've never seen a mother and daughter closer than D and Mammy DThis was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.:j:j:j:j0

A bit out of some peoples comfort zone Flower but would you consider Accupuncture? One of my friends is a GPs daughter and has been a really bad way this year with depression, anxiety and a suicide attempt, and the tablets did next to nothing for her depression although the anxiety was eased a bit I think, but accupuncture apparently helps a little.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I am a bit worried that he is going to say I need to go back on my tablets once baby is here, which I dont really want to do as I want to breastfeed but we shall have to see!
I was just about to start typing what Tete said in reply to this, then read the thread a little more to find it'd already been said. I can only echo that. You'll be a fantastic Mummy regardless.
My Sister is absolutely terrified of needles, when she has a tattoo she doses up on numbing cream and just doesn't look. She'd love to give blood but obviously tattoos = no.
And I'm more than happy to share my recipes and tips, although I don't know if they'll do people much good! I'll try putting something together, just recipes and best places to shop for things? I don't know where to start really!0 -
Wow well done for posting Dinah and thank you for adding me to the front page. I dont know how I'm going to get the money for this challenge but that forgotton Quidco cash was a nice little boost and perfect timing for this challenge!! Think I'll have to get back on DY but I've literally had no spare time!
Good on you all for giving blood too! I'm a total supporter and while I can't do it myself, urge others to really go for it! OH started a few months ago (I think he can give again next month?!) and he is so pleased that he finally got around to it!!
Has anyone else got great plans for the £1000 challenge?0 -
Not really Tink, I'm just hoping to save bits where I can and curb my spending. I've also been saving £10 for every 101 item I cross off, so I'll count any of those too. Got the Gateshead 10k tomorrow, eek - please let it not be raining QUITE this much tomorrow!
Went to that vintage fair and it was nice but because it's billed as a vintage fair everything's so expensive! There was even a 'retro style' H&M dress for £15, what a rip off! I got a little jug and some vintage buttons which were from the stallholder's granny's button tinI had a poke in the charity shops after and one of them had a '5 books for £1' sale on
In my defence, three of them are books I have actualy wanted to read for a while, and the other two are classics
Cinny I'd love to see some recipes and hintsWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I forgot to say though as well.. Dinah that car insurance IS high! I've got me and OH who is male and under 25 on my car and its only £450 for the whole year (which would be approx £38/month (half what you pay) so I'm astounded! What insurance group is the car? Adding my dad saved me about £50 and sometimes when you make a change they charge you an admin fee so if you're making it fully comp, I would ask about adding your dad at the same time if you can - also it saves you a phonecall further down the line!! If you can try to budget for car ins for next year too I would because paying it annually does save you quite a bit. This might not apply as the % might not be that bad compared to some of your other debts but it is worth looking!!0

Ooh also - don't protect your no claims bonus (if you do) - that took about £95 off my bill!Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
