Probably between 2 and 3 pounds. Thats how much i'd pay for soup in cafes near my work.
Glad your OH is getting a bit more excited now Birdie.0 -
About £1.50 max, the sandwich place in town does a polystyrene cup of homemade soup for £1.

Right, fresh homemade soup, no additives or preservatives. Varied flavours made with seasonal vegitables. How much would you be willing to pay for a bowl of the stuff to have a hot lunch at work? Assume your not an MSE'r and that you do actually buy lunch at work sometimes obviously, I know none of us would do such a thing.
I had a hosp appt this morning and DH drove me so i wouldn't have to drive into "the big city". He said "I think I'll have a coffee while I'm waiting for you" so i agreed. Came back to the concourse after my appt and thought maybe I'll treat myself too. Sandwiches were between £2.50-£4 something and a pot of pasta was nearly £3. They obviously sell too cos there was a big queue at both the food places. So I would probably say about £2-3 for lovely homemade soup (although not sure I would pay it :rotfl: )
PS Sorry for making you cry NIMDH did buy the records from the charity shop and picked me really cheesy ones as a joke (i'm an indie chick)

Hello everyone, have been awol for a few days as still have no internet at home - its killing me!
Huge congratulations, CMD, Evie is a gorgeous name, really happy for you and your family x
And I may also be stealing some of those ideas Birdie if you don't mind, there is some present genius flying around the thread atm! Love the pots of gold idea! I actually bought my first Christmas pressie last month which is a bit naughty - had to make a purchase for MS and spotted something my sister would love, so stashed it away - just have to remember where now!

Dinah, what about covered notebooks/diaries?? You can get the notebooks/diaries for £1 in the pound shop (funnily enough) i even got 4 small notebooks for £1 so that's even better. Then you can cover them either with paper or fabric (depending what you have in your stash) and you have a lovely personalised gift.
also what about little lavender sachets to hang in the wardrobe
or make little gift bags/stockings with one or two special items in

Good idea Starnac, I pimped up a notebook a couple of weeks ago. OH won a pack of 2 fabric covered notebooks in a tombola (just what every man needs!) so I took the plain one and pulled apart a necklace of a pendant strung on red leather 'strings' and stuck it all on the front. Looks very fancy now, will make a nice gift for someone! The other notebook is striped and I can't decide what to stick on it as it all looks too busy for my liking.
Another cheeky tip is to go to a big Next with a good home department and help yourself to the free sofa fabric samples, I got a handful for sticking on cards etc, they might look nice sewn together to make a funky patchwork cushion.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Is anyone else wondering when the sun's going to wake up?! How dreary it is today!
Cool book Lara, lovely to have a personal handmade keepsake rather than the normal wedding gifts!
